Nice Hotel had good onsen experience. I took the dinner and breakfast buffet and there were plenty of options and the food tasted good. Definitely added to the experience so I would recommend it. Rooms are nice and spacious will all kinds of amenities. I loved the green tea cups and experience in the room. Was charming. Its about 15mins walk from train station so wasn't too bad. I was a but concerned reading the reviews while booking. While old school the hotel wasn't too shabby.

The staff is nice, I lost my headphones at the train station, they helped to contact the station and found it. They also have snow shoe spikes and slider to rent out in winter, but we didn't know it until the day we leave.

The food, dinner and breakfast, was outstanding.It is a big hotel and I normally don’t like buffet dinners, but the food here was really great. We had a private onsen, which was wonderful, with indoor and outdoor baths and equipped with everything you need.

Great value for money. We booked a room with a private onsen and it was great – spacious, very quiet, with an outdoor bath opening up to the forest. The staff was helpful and polite and both the dinner and breakfast were amazing. Definitely would stay here again.

The staff are amazing, very friendly and accommodating. The food was so well thought of and delicious. The Bus stop to Nikko central is just few steps away and you have the view and awesome view of Lake Chuzenji. The room and bed are huge so space is not a problem here. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Japan. There are free coffee and tea and water at the bar

Very friendly and helpful host. Delicious meals. Cozy atmosphere. Beautiful views to the lake. Good location - less than 10 minutes on foot from the bus terminal, and all the other main attractions are close by as well.

The hotel was beautiful and perfectly located next to the bridge, and close to the temple area. The Onsen was the best one of the three Onsens I visited during my trip

This place is absolutely incredible. It has a 24/7 onsen with indoor and outdoor pools, separated for men and women. They offer drinks, coffee, waffles, and popcorn, and there’s a beautiful view of the lake. I also recommend hiking Mt. Nantai while you’re here—it’s about a 7-hour hike. I even swam in the lake in October, and it felt great. I would recommend this place 1000%.

the structure was perfect. very close to the train station (3 min walk) small but comfortable. the owners were welcoming and helpful, helping us understand the best itinerary for our trip and also offering us a rich and typical breakfast of traditional Japanese cuisine. the room was clean, tidy, comfortable and welcoming. we slept on a comfortable and soft futon. despite the low temperatures the room was warm and the view of the mountains beautiful.

It was large and clean. The location was great for us, a. Short walk with our two suitcases from the train station. There was a 7 eleven and a local supermarket within a few minutes walk. We the local coffee ar fab we found near the train station call Kichin. The staff are lovely and the coffee is really good..

The property far exceeded our expectations. It was in an excellent location. A parking space available at the property. It was immaculately clean. Comfortable beds. For an old building it was in great condition. I highly recommend that people try this home. You get an authentic experience of Nikko and a glimpse of what it'd be like living there. We love the fact that we could cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Thanks again to the property owner. We appreciate you allowing us into the home 🙏

Nikko Kawasemi was a wonderful and unexpected find. The accommodation was cosy, spotless, and thoughtfully set up, making it feel immediately welcoming after a day of exploring. Its location is a real highlight—just a short walk from both the train and bus stations, which made getting around Nikko effortless. The host was exceptionally helpful and kind, providing clear, detailed information that made our stay smooth and stress-free. Everything we needed was provided, and it was clear that a lot of care has gone into maintaining the space. We were very comfortable here and would happily stay again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nikko.
