Here is a polished and natural version of your review: Very nice family-run small hotel. Extremely clean, spacious Japanese-style tatami rooms with a balcony. The two large onsens can be used privately, which is a great bonus. Even though it’s a bit far from the center, it’s highly recommended.

Great place to stay when discovering east Kyushu. Two gorgeous onsens ín house tastefully decorated and different temps, all for private use. 5* cleanliness, kind attention from our Host who is always available. Nice lounge for eating or just to stay and socialize. Edge of town still walkable. Great view to Yufudake from window. Good coconut matrasses. Spacious room. Parking right on site.

The staff who handled our check-in (26 Feb 2025) were welcoming and helpful, especially the lady with glasses who spoke English. Even the gentleman at reception and staff at the dinner buffet gave a good impression despite the language barrier. This contrasted with the staff at reception when we checked out the next day (see next section). I also noticed that staff took special care to arrange the restaurant seating for our group of eight adults - they did a great job so we had both easy buffet access and a bit of privacy. The rooms were impeccably clean and had plenty of amenities, as well as a nice view, windows which could be opened for air, and a beautifully appointed bathroom with excellent water pressure. My expectations in terms of the rooms were exceeded. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious with some dishes freshly made to order (omelettes at breakfast; seasonal desserts and dishes such as chawanmushi and beef at dinner) - I would glad return just to eat these again. Hotel is within 10 mins walking distance of Umi no Jigoku and a small shopping street. There is a huge parking lot. I did not use the public onsens but my travelling companions did (multiple times), and enjoyed it.

Boasting a bar, ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa by IHG is situated in Beppu.
