The staff here were great, helpful, pleasant, and very knowledgeable! The stargazing tour in the evening was great, loved the experience - even if it was a little cloudy, it was still enjoyable and plenty to see. Delicious food for breakfast and dinner too. Comfortable and very spacious room too! Would 100% recommend this hotel.

It is really beautiful landscape and if you want, you can follow the pathway to enjoy the different geography. It may take an hour or so to walk a full trip. Have to pay entrance fee per car. Prepare cash. If you have hear problems or asthma, there are warnings not to go close to crater area. No food being served so if you want to eat, go to rest area which is about five minutes drive from Aso mountain. There are two very nice lakes over there too! Worth visiting that rest area. Parking is 300 joy in that rest area.

Mt Aso Nakadera Caldera is a must visit if you are driving...

Mt Aso Nakadera Caldera is a must visit if you are driving in Kyushu. Nothing beats the excitement of looking into the caldera and its steam and smoke. Just remember that this remains an active volcano having last erupted on 20 Oct 2021. Think White Island volcano which erupted killing and injuring many tourists and know the risk although the Japanese seem to take it in their stride to live, work and play on the slopes of so many volcanoes across Japan.

Perfectly situated for exploring Mount Aso and surrounding areas. Mr Yoshi gave us a wonderful Japanese welcome and was exceptional hospitable throughout. His recommendations were great - east restaurant and the Onsen beside it.

Beautiful spacious house with beautiful garden and big outdoor space. Perfect base for exploring Mount Aso, Kikuchi area, Takamori area, as well as Minamiaso; assuming you have your own car. Amazing experience to live like local in a posh bungalow.

Group trip to mount Aso. The lodge itself is averagely maintained, cleanliness is below average. The toilet itself was in bad condition. Also note one toilet for if you have 4+ people staying together. The water pressure was good and hot water came out well. The living room set up was nice and cozy. The balcony looks out to the garden and outdoor area which was nice. The beds are pretty hard & the towels were also quite old.

Good, quiet location on outskirts of Aso City. Convenient for visiting Mount Aso. Guests were able to help themselves to free hot drinks. Very close to a nice bakery! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Very reasonably priced.

The best hotel we had on our Fufuoka trip, the room is excellent, above our expectations. Big, spacious, everything is clean and new. The location is good, just beside Family Mart, and just 5 mins away from the entrance to Mount Aso. I would like to give 6 stars if I can.

The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic. The onsen was very good. The swimming pool did not allow too much swimming but was attractive other ways. And the hotel was not far from the railway station from where the bus up to Mount Aso was leaving.

Located just a stone throw from the main bus terminal and Aso train station. Very new hotel. Amazing view from room window on higher floors facing Mount Aso. Lovely, comfortable lobby area with wooden tables and chairs , as well as a pantry with coffee machine, microwave, toaster oven and free tea bags and miso soup.

Great location in Mount Aso in the heart of town. The onsen is a sulfur bath which leaves your skin feeling refreshed and Moisturised. There is a very conducive sitting room with fireplace and ground coffee provided. We were able to fit a family of 5 in the tatami room which is very unusual for hotels / ryokans. The tatami room is very comfortable. Nepalese staff are all English speaking and can help with translation.
