The hosts are the definition of hospitality. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and were more than happy to share what was around the surrounding area so we had always things to do. Fluent in both Japanese and English, the hosts were always a joy to speak with and the amount of hidden gems in this area are incredible! They also offer a traditional tea ceremony option which was extremely enlightening — it felt like I was in the Shogun series! The property/room is pristine and newly renovated. It’s an extremely clean and is the most modern, traditional Japanese property I’ve ever been in. A big plus is that they allowed dogs and the surrounding area is perfect for dog owners. The detail in the designs and renovations make this property immaculate. Rarely do property pictures accurately depict what you really get … but this one hits the mark. I cannot thank Matt & Ikumi enough for making this visit a true golden experience to remember. By far the best stay I’ve have ever had at a property and can’t wait to visit again.

We loved everything about our stay! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and spacious enough for our family of 5. The tub on the porch was amazing. Grilling out on our front porch was very fun and the heaters made it nice and warm even in winter. We enjoyed morning yoga, fire pit s'mores and the free drinks and mocktails from the garden kitchen. There is an incredible park within walking distance. So much fun!

the owner is a quite person but very kind and considerate. she was one of very few accommodation-owners who speak english. 1. specially she took care of our electrical bicycles which need battery charging. she made an indoor space in a different house which is perfect. 2. also the kitchen which is well devised and like home kitchen was very nice to use. 3. the room we stayed has so nice mountain view, which was tranquil. 4. during our stay, it was heavy rain and we, bike traveller, probably made the space dusty. but she understood the situation and was generous to provide more towels to wipe water on body. 5. we vediotaped the house because her retro-renovation of the old farm house(actually looks old shop house in a farming village) was very intriguing and informative. (very japanese as well as very moderate and inexpensive)

Very clean, very big! It's the whole lower floor of a newly renovated house. Nice, thoughtful "welcome" foods for our first day. Great free parking spot for a small car. Sleep in one or two days, and visit all of Akizuki town. This home is a perfect location for day trips to northern Kyushu attractions by car.

Extremely serene and gentle town. Really easy to go for morning walks to local temples and shrines in Japanese countryside. Hosts were very accommodating and welcoming when our wifi didn't work. They provided fresh fruit, bread, milk and juice for the stay which we are pleasantly surprised about.

This Ryokan is wonderful. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. I had the dinner and it was delicious with beautiful presentation.The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
