We had a truly wonderful stay at Hummingbird St. Claire Villas. Waking up to the breathtaking sunrise and the picturesque waterfall view in the morning was an unforgettable experience. The surrounding environment was peaceful, refreshing, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The villa was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. We also enjoyed every meal at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the view from the restaurant made every dining experience even more special! A special thanks to the staff, who were always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. We highly recommend Hummingbird St. Claire Villas to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable escape. We would definitely love to visit again!

It was an amazing and mesmerizing weekend spent there. Tidy and clean place with breath taking view. The friendly staff and food were superb. Especially thanks for Mr.Ragu who has given warm welcome and guidance with a full smile. 😊

The room was super comfy, staff were very helpful.. the view was amazing..

We had an amazing time at this home stay. Our host Saroja was incredibly kind, welcoming us in, spending time chatting with us, and cooking delicious meals. She truly made us feel right at home after a long day of hiking the Pekoe Trail!

Modern, very clean. Nesham was a wonderful host. Attentive and helpful. Good food Great views. Convenient location after walking Stage 6 of Pekoe Trail.

Specifically, location and views such as green mountain range, tea states, and the climate.

The property was in perfect location for Pekoe trail. The owner was very helpful and a great resource for hiking advice. The neighbors were super nice and were fantastic cooks during my stay.

Literally everything. Communication was great and the service, food and comfort were very good indeed. It's a really quiet place too and we slept like logs after Pekoe Trail Stage 4. They were also kind enough to find us a tuk tuk to get back to Pundaluoya for Stage 5.

Nice and clean place. There was an old man who helped us with everything.

The Grand Argyle is an absolute gem! It felt like a family residence, nestled in a privileged surrounding. So tranquile, lush tea mountains around, perfect to disconnect. The guest services is a Grand team...thank you so much Sanjeeva, Siva and Shelan for taking utmost care of us. We will be back

This place was truly the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! We were two families traveling with two 10-year-old children, and all of us were incredibly impressed by the warm hospitality of the manager and his wonderful team. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The manager kindly asked what we would like for breakfast and dinner and made sure all our wishes were fulfilled. The food was always fresh and delicious. He also personally showed us around the tea plantation, explaining the local culture and way of life, which made our stay even more special and authentic. We had two rooms with a fantastic view over the tea plantation and waking up to that scenery was simply unforgettable. If you choose to stay here, we highly recommend asking the manager to arrange a driver named Romesh. He picked us up at Colombo Airport, stayed with us during our time there, and then drove us to Yala National Park. During our trip through Sri Lanka, we had several drivers, but Romesh was by far the best. He was professional, kind, reliable, and made us feel safe at all times. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back again!

Beautiful view point, friendly staff, tasty food calm environment & personalized service

The staff was simply amazing. Everybody was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had the best stay possible. The staff organized a small Birthday surprise for me (we didn’t even tell them about my birthday). Even though there were lots of guests, we had the feeling that all staff was super attentive, anticipating any possible needs from our side. After our stay, we felt spoilt and had a hard time to adjust to „regular good service“ in other hotels. Special thanks to Mr. Nadan, Vithu and Shiva who made our stay exceptional. They went above and beyond to take great care of us. In the end we were very sad to leave these great people and we’ll make sure to come back. Of course we also enjoyed the food, the view, the swimming pool, the spa and the pool table. We loved celebrating New Year’s Eve with the Argyle team. It was the most extensive and delicious buffet we ever had. Regular breakfast and meals were also super delicious and high quality.

If you really want to experience the tea planters colonial lifestyle, stay at the Governor’s Mansion. The mansion is located a few kilometers from the main road in the middle of a tea plantation with fantastic views and a serene atmosphere. The Staff was outstanding! Yoga, Jicont (sp?) the wonderful chef, and the entire team were so kind and took very good care of us. The best food we’ve had on trip. The rice and curry dish was amazing. The western dishes are prepared very well. The rooms are very comfortable. We thank everyone for a great three night stay. We didn’t want to leave. The road to the hotel is fine. Most of it is a hard packed rock based dirt road. We had no problem going up and down several times in our little tiny Honda rental car (self-driving) Do not let the reviews with negative comments on the road deter you from staying here.

Nice colonial house, refreshing bedroom and modern bathroom. The service we received from the owner and staff was outstanding. They helped us with all our inquiries and most importantly got us our train tickets to Ella! Would recommend if you are passing through Hatton. Note that the home is close to day traffic but the night time is very quiet!

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting up country. Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to us. All respect for the manager Sam, who does a great job here a true sample of excellent hospitality in my country. ~ Chamila ~
