This was our favourite place to stay so far in terms of an authentic taste of Sri Lanka. The host was the friendliest man! They cooked us the tastiest food we have eaten here so far: beautiful fresh fish curry and potato curry, and they sang and played the drum whilst we ate dinner. He also led us on a walk of the local area and showed us a watermelon farm. it’s also very close to the National park entrance. we booked safari through Yala Wild House and we had a fantastic driver at a reasonable rate. He made sure we saw the best of the animals and surroundings. We highly recommend

Yakaduru is a great place where nature and tradition come together, making it perfect for tourists. We really liked how they treated us and how comfortable we felt during our stay. The safari was amazing, especially because our guide was so friendly and helpful. Despite the dry surroundings, Yakaduru felt peaceful with lots of trees and nice buildings. We had a fun BBQ night with interesting food. Exploring the chena fields and climbing treehouses made our trip even more exciting. We can't wait to come back with our kids for more fun!

Rivosen Camp Yala Safari was awesome! Manjula and Buddika smile’s were very contagious, always making sure we had everything we needed. They have few meal package options, and I highly recommend selecting one, because Buddika cooked multiple Sri Lankan dishes (vegetarian options available) for us and each of them were absolutely delicious. The camp is situated at the border of Yala National Park, therefore during our stay, we saw different wildlife crossing the campground. The location was also very convenient as it is only 15 minutes from the entrance gate of the park. Manjula kindly helped us to organize a Safari tour for the following morning. During our fresh up shower, we had many eyes watching us, as cute frogs and friendly geckos were co-habituating the bathroom. The bed was very comfy and the hotel-like linen were as white as we ever seen in Sri Lanka so far. This place was the perfect little nature retreat, and we loved everything about it. We were spoiled with delicious food, kindness from the owners and an amazing wildlife experience. Manjula and Buddika will do everything to make you happy.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.
