The owner was very welcoming, despite the fact that he had closed his place off to bookings for a few days, and it was actually still available as I saw it online, but he opened his home to me anyway. The place was very nice, very modern inside. You can tell that the owner has done a lot of work to make it comfortable and homey (new windows, doors). All the furnishings are nice and new, the WiFi works great, and it’s in a very peaceful and beautiful location. I was fortunate enough to have met the owner (was invited to the annual wine making, since I was there!) who made sure my stay was comfortable while providing the utmost hospitality.

The castle is beautiful, with every detail perfectly matching the atmosphere. The owner is incredibly hospitable and.. plays the piano beautifully! We had to leave early in the morning, and without even asking, we were offered dinner instead of breakfast, which we wouldn't have been able to enjoy.

I loved how isolated this place is. The grounds were awesome and the host family was exceptional. They took care of everything and gave us an awesome tour of the bee farm and gardens. We will be using this place for all future trips to the area.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained property. It's a perfect blend of modern convenience and historic charm. We especially liked the stone wall accents. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and having a selection of stuffed animals available for our kids to borrow for the night was a nice touch. The breakfast is a definite highlight, with several items made hot and fresh by the owners each morning. We loved that the menu changed slightly each day. The property is also conveniently located—just a short walk (less than 10 minutes) from several excellent restaurants recommended by the staff. Speaking of the staff, they are incredibly friendly and helpful. They were happy to book taxis for us and offered great recommendations that never disappointed. We can't recommend this place enough and will stay there again on our next visit!

The apartment was lovely - very spaceous, huge bedroom, well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Place was spottles clean, bed was huge and comfortable, plenty of hot water. They welcommed us with our husky dog and the host was very, very nice, helpful and welcoming! They let us park our car inside in the fenced parking area, while the hosts' car was parked outside. The yard was well decorated, with fresh green grass, beautiful flower garden and tables and chairs to enjoy the view. The lady of the house - Viorica, was always there to help us and to provide information and advice. At the end of our stay there, she even gave us good-bye gifts - a bottle of the famous Cricova champagne rosé and a bottle of hommade liquore, made by Viorica herself. :) Staying at Merlot Apartment is a great experience that will enrich your wine tour in Cricova!

Just a great experience all the way around in the quiet, attractive town of Orhei. Spotlessly clean hotel with an easy walk to town and its selection of restaurants and cafes. 2 really nice parks near the hotel as well. 15 minute drive to the beautiful Curchi Monastery. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Also, unlike a lot of places, breakfast was included so that was a great way to start the day with a nice choice of cheese, meat, fruit, breads, etc along with juice and coffee. Highly recommended!
