This is not only a hostel, this is the full package. The best part about it are the hosts that make the stay special, as they care for you like their family as they cook for you and offered us guided adventures: driving to the cenotes with motortaxis and explaining all backgrounds. The hostel itself is small with its 8 beds, it is very clean, beds are comfortable, breakfast is very delicious. Parking directly in front of the hostel is possible, the last 50m are a little bumpy but manageable. Lockers available.

We loved this place. You could almost call it a cultural community center. The attention to detail and love for the environment are remarkable: they make their own soap from their bees, grow the watermelons and other fruits served at breakfast, and if you wish, Adriana will cook up delicious homemade Mexican dishes. And from our Dutch experience it was really: 'Lekker zitten, lekker eten'. We visited the lodge after a trip to Chichen Itza. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised that their daughter greeted us in Dutch! We hadn’t expected to hear our native language here, and she spoke it so well—it made us feel instantly at home. Leuk om van jou zo veel te leren van alle diertjes om jullie huisje! Geniet van het trampoline springen! The host has an impressive knowledge of Mayan culture and the local environment, and because she’s traveled widely throughout Mexico, she also has deep insight into how different cultures and histories intersect across the country. Beyond her work at the lodge, she even teaches local children about the cultural and natural heritage of the area, passing on traditional knowledge and skills to new generations. Our stay here truly enriched our understanding of Mexico. We leave with a deeper appreciation and perspective on this beautiful country.

It was one of the best stays we had here in Mexico. Quite central in the town of Homun, Papagrande has everything you need to stay some days. We also had cheap and very good breakfast there! The 2 doggies of the property are very nice too. Thank u very much for the comfy stay !

I loved that the owner is building an eco hotel, and reuses all the material from the environment. Everything felt very natural and pieceful. Everything was clean, nature was very present and it is for sure a place I like to go back to. The room was very calm, bed very comfy and shower really nice. Also there was the oppertunity to cook for myself, clean shower water with not so much chlorine like other places in Mexico and there was temazcal which i really loved! Also the owner is really helpful and helped me with all my questions and I had really good conversations with. The local people also made some food, which was very tastful. I am very happy that I choose to stay here.

Galopina is a calm and tranquil place. Very well planned, beautiful minimalistic interior design. Everything was aesthetically pleasing. My stress levels decreased in only a few days. Surrounded by nature, it was perfect. Breakfast was good and - this I’ve noticed is not to be taken for granted in Mexico - they serve good coffee. They also serve delicious dinner. It’s possible to eat outside, which is nice for someone like us from the Nordics. Staff is friendly. Their dogs are awesome, as well. I’ve travelled almost 50 countries and stayed in numerous places but I truly think that the owners of Galopina have created something special.

Hacienda San José Cholul is a special place and staying there is an exceptional experience. In the middle of the Yucatan countryside, it's a set of beautiful historic buildings surrounded by delightful gardens, and wonderfully peaceful. The old hacienda has been carefully modernised with attractive modern touches, including a stunning pool. The Yucatecan and Mexican food, traditional with sophisticated modern variations, is generous and excellent. What appealed to us most thought was the staff, who were all utterly charming, friendly and helpful and added greatly to our enjoyment. Recommended for a stay that's really a cut above the ordinary.
