Suposàvem l’amabilitat de la Diana pels comentaris de Booking, però la realitat va superar amb escreix les nostres expectatives, començant pel fet que ens va rebre personalment tot i que vam arribar al tard al vespre com a conseqüència del retard del nostre vol. Els seus consells sobre comerços i llocs per visitar van facilitar notablement la nostra estada. Estar allotjats a Edam ens va permetre gaudir de la tranquil·litat d’un lloc petit, amb comerços locals de qualitat, dels quals també cal destacar l’amabilitat del personal a l’hora de fer-se entendre. Edam està a menys de mitja hora d’Amsterdam en transport públic, en un autobús que recorre un paisatge agradable abans d’arribar a la capital. També està ben comunicat amb autobús amb Volendam i amb el ferri cap a Marken o Zaanse Schans. La casa és una meravella. Ens va sorprendre que disposés de diversos jocs de taula i jocs infantils, com ara una granja de fusta amb moltíssims animals, que van fer que la nostra estada en família fos molt més agradable
