I had a fantastic stay at Buenaventura. The room was large, comfortable, clean, and great value for money. The resort is great, with lovely gardens, and a nice restaurant / eating / relaxation area. The beach is amazing, and just a short and pleasant 30 second walk from the resort. The sand is lovely, and the entire beach is great for swimming. There are lots of interesting restaurants along the beach. Note that a new bridge has been built in the last couple of years, meaning that the resort (and Sugar Beach generally) can be accessed easily from the main highway. I took the bus from Bacolod and alighted in Gil Montilla (just before Sipalay); a tricycle then took me directly to the resort (approx. 5km in the tricycle). Very easy. There are many reviews about Sugar Beach online that mention the need to get a boat; this is no longer required. As mentioned in many of the reviews, Brian makes a great pizza (with home made dough!), as well as lots of other food offerings on the menu; many using home made / home grown ingredients. The wifi was very fast and reliable (I understand that Brian has recently moved to a new provider, which addresses some of the concerns of previous guests that I saw in the reviews). Best of all, Brian (from Switzerland) and Che Che were great hosts; very friendly and very helpful. Many thanks to Brian, Che Che, and the team for a lovely stay! I hope to see you again in the future!

My son & his family with my mom & dad.. Really enjoyed ...staying in huge family room. My grandchildren are very happy when they arrived as they have the swimming pool...they swim the whole stay Good thing as well you can prepare your own food. Big help for the parking too. Thanks...highly recommended.
