This was one of our best stays in Romania. Set in beautiful rolling hills of Bucovina, Casa Jucan is the perfect place to stay. As well as the three traditional homes it is also run as a small holding. They have pigs, cows, sheep and chickens and all the food served is produced on site. This includes fresh milk, home made pastrami and smoked meats, home made butter, yogurt and cheese as well as preserves and vegetables. They also had some very nice apple juice, wine and spirits which we were also home made. The accommodation itself was beautiful and was like stepping back in time; but with hot water and electricity! We were made to feel very welcome and our children loved roaming around and playing with the young dog. The owners spent a lot of time talking to us and treated us exceptionally well. We stayed in the oldest of the three houses and stayed in traditional bedrooms with wood fired heaters. We can’t recommend Casa Jucan highly enough.

The house is perfect for a small group. Big bedrooms with own bathrooms, nice livingroom and dinning, well-equiped kitchen, parking and a big garden with barbecue terrace. The host was very nice, waiting for us cause we arrived very late. We had delicious typical liquor and fresh milk from the house.

It’s in a beautiful location, with great views. The host’s were lovely and helpful, and their 2 gorgeous puppy dogs Whiskey and Johnny were so cute. I’d like to return in a year or 2 to see how big they’ll be 😁
