Liked: The hotel manager, Digna Mwacha, provided exceptional service. She was incredibly responsive even before we arrived—coordinating our transport and making sure everything ran smoothly when our flight was delayed. She ensured our group had clean, comfortable rooms with a private soaking pool, which was a wonderful touch. One of the most meaningful parts of our stay was a school visit that Digna helped us arrange. We brought donations and got to see an incredible program supporting local moms and kids. It was truly impactful. We also had a traditional dance performance that we had planned in advance—it was fantastic! The energy was so fun, and we even joined in. Such a joyful way to spend the evening. And the pizza from the restaurant? So good!

Beautiful location set in the village about a km from Marangu gate. Close to a waterfall for swimming and at night a welcoming fire to sit by. Food was great and plentiful. Lots of trails to explore in the area and the opportunity to hike Kilimanjaro for a day hike or to the top. To get to the home stay you can go by boda boda or taxi from marangu town/bus station; the roads to the village are very rough. Staff and host did everything to make our stay very pleasurable. Thank you.

I wish I had found this little gem earlier. I actually stayed here twice about one week apart. The two experiences were worlds apart and it had NOTHING to do with the property but with impolite rude selfish guests. The quiet and tranquility the second stay was exactly what I wanted. After a grueling 8 day Kili trek I was exhausted. All I wanted was a shower, bed, and sleep. My room was clean, nicely appointed and spacious enough for me. It is easy to see someone cares a lot about this place with all the nice details evident everywhere: international outlets, toiletries, overhead bed fan etc. The breakfast was ample and filling. I simply wanted to rest my weary body. Unfortunately, the common areas are a bit snug but really that is not the issue. The dining area consist of one single large round table that sits about 10 persons. A bit snug. There are swings which are quite close and three swinging mattresses - a treat indeed. It is a nice lounge area albeit snug. The issue is when other guests behave as if this property is a HOSTEL when it is not. It is a hotel. Such individuals which are usually young and rude and want to talk loudly and “party” are the ones to ruin this lovely property. Common areas are meant to be enjoyed by all guests act respectfully and behave properly. I highly recommend this hotel.
