Most important about The Patrician is TJ, the owner. He runs this place with love and dedication, is always there if you need support, prepares a wonderful breakfast, and is one of the best hosts we have ever experienced!

The room had just been renovated and was big, clean, comfortable. The we paid few and were very satisfied and even surprised by the quality of service and of the room. Microwave and fridge were very useful. The housekeeping cleaned and exchanged the towels every morning. Parking was free of charge. I would definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was great, with fresh, crisp bagels and warm, comforting coffee—but honestly, that’s not the reason I chose to stay here. The bed was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for rest after a long flight. What made this place truly special to me, though, was the location and nostalgia. 23 years ago, I lived right across the street at 42 North Michigan Avenue, back when this hotel was still Vagabond Inn. The service was outstanding—the cashier even waited for me in the middle of the night to check in after my long journey. That level of care and hospitality made a lasting impression.

A privilege and a pleasure to stay in this mid-20th century-modern motel! The building, painted orange, with the creative calligraphy of its big sign, is great. Our room was completely up-to-date: very comfortable, spacious, good reading lights by the bed, wall-to-wall carpet (when other motels have switched to fake parquet), and clean. A nice breakfast bar. On a main street, but we weren't troubled by noise. The swimming pool is on the small side, but after a long, hot day on the freeways, I appreciated the chance to have a refreshing dip.

Excellent staff, really helpful and supportive even at a time of high stress. Location is really good, very close to old Pasadena, but in the direction of Caltech, which worked perfectly for me. The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable.
