This was by far the nicest place I've stayed for a week of relaxation and outdoor walking excursions. I stayed over Christmas, and only after realized I was the only one there for Christmas Eve. But to the hotel that didn't matter -- a full breakfast bar was waiting for me, along with a fresh, hot, delicious cappuccino! Thank you again for this! The room was large, beautiful and gave me plenty of space to spend time inside. The ceilings are high, which allowed beautiful extra large windows. The view was lovely day and night. The beds were perfect -- not too soft, not too hard. I know this is a personal preference, but I think they would fit anyone's needs. There were plenty of pillows, too! There was a desk near the window which allowed me to sit, admire the view, and work on my computer. The bathroom was spacious, with a large shower. There was good water pressure, and the hot water was easy to control. There were plenty of towels, and could be used several times before needing changed. There was also hands soap and a nice smelling shower gel/shampoo. A hair dryer was provided as well. For breakfast I was never having to eat the same thing because there was simply so many choices. Every day there would be yogurt, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, vegetables, pickles, tarts, breads, croissants, and of course juice, water and delicious fresh coffee -- cappuccinos, espressos or lattes. The owner and his colleague were very nice, with plenty of time to chat, or ask if you needed anything -- nothing was too much, and always with a smile! If you are looking for a lovely place to stay, with excellent architecture and an owner that truly cares about his guests, you can't go wrong with a stay here. I plan to go back this summer, on a biking trip, with my friends!

It is even nicer than in the pictures. Great location, close to the center and a good supermarket, very very quiet and private, in a charming street, with a private minigarden. Equipped with everything imaginable. Krems is the best town in the area for exploring the Wachau. Matthias is the nicest and most attentive host with great tips. Also, the apartment was very cool in the middle of a heatwave.
