The hostel is excellent, very clean and comfortable, and in a great location - right on the water, with beautiful views, and less than 10 minutes from the bus station. The kitchen is very big and well equipped for guests, with spices, tea/coffee, etc. and shared spaces are kept very clean and welcoming. Our bedroom was very comfortable. Sandro is incredibly welcoming and goes above and beyond to give advice on restaurants, buses and also detailed suggestions for day trips, including Google map routes which we found super helpful and filled our four days on Chiloé Island! We highly recommend this hostel!

La Minga Hostel está ubicado en Castro, a 2,2 km de Playa Sabanilla y a 19 km de Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores. A very helpful owner and staff. The owner had great advice on where to visit, including a great penguin tour that I took on my last day. The room was also good, with a private bath. The common area was spacious too.

Hostal Casa Damasco está ubicado en Ancud, a 15 minutos a pie de Playa Arena Gruesa, y ofrece alojamiento con un jardín, estacionamiento privado gratis y salón compartido. The location was amazing. Literally like 1 minute to the coast from the hostel(walking) and only a few blocks from the artisanal market and to the towns’ busy area. The house was decorated beautifully and was very spacious. The host Raúl was very intelligent, well mannered, and informative. Though, I didn’t use it, he offers tours in his Hostel (penguins, the town, etc). Very good communication with him and he recommended us good places to eat and where to visit within Ancud and where to go afterwards. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was perfect. Private parking available upon request. Central AC in the house, so we slept nice and warm.

Cabañas y hostal Aurora está ubicado a 1,9 km de Playa Sabanilla y tiene alojamiento con un jardín, una terraza y cocina compartida para tu comodidad. La casa de Pamela es preciosa, nos sentimos muy cómodos en todo momento, la habitación y las camas son muy agradables. Pamela y su familia estuvieron muy atentos y nos ayudaron a solucionar un problema que tuvimos con el auto, incluso llamaron al vecino por lo que estamos muy agradecidos. Toda la experiencia estuvo increible, gracias!!!

Lovely hostel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the kitchen - big, homey, and filled with everything you need to cook. The staff wonderful - helpful, patient, and kind! The hostel arranged a penguin tour and kayaking tour for me - both a lot of fun. The hostel is located right across the street from Bus Sur Station so if you are planning to travel here by bus from Castro or Puerto Montt, take Bus Sur! It's alos located just a few blocks from the shore and from many restaurants, supermarket, and cafes.
