Our room was massive and clean as a whistle, with a balcony that opened right onto proper mountain views. Felt like we were camping in the clouds but with all the comforts! What really made it was the top-notch service. Cheers to Wendy and the team for being absolute legends - they sorted our airport pickup, park tickets and even gave us some fair dinkum local tips. No stress at all! Breakfast had a solid spread with both hot tucker and healthy options, and the pool was bonza after a long day hiking. If you're an Aussie heading to Zhangjiajie, this is the place to stay - great value, heaps of space and good vibes all round. Will be telling the mates back home about this one!

Knowing someone was there to assist me made my entire journey feel much more comfortable. Check-in was incredibly fast with Joanna’s help. She also provided excellent recommendations for the National Forest Park, including which tickets to purchase and the best routes to take. Joanna even helped us secure tickets at a discounted rate. The service was outstanding, I received immediate responses whenever I asked a question. The level of care and professionalism was truly impressive. A recently renovated homestay situated in Fenghuang, Fenghuang Ancient Town Lazy Cat Riverside Inn features a terrace. With mountain views, this accommodation offers a balcony. The homestay features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Super convenient location. A stairway away from the entrance to Phoenix town, which makes it very easy to take a taxi, and a 5 min walk to Hongqiao bridge. Liù was an absolute top host; she recommended amazing lunch spots, the main must-sees and even went with me on a very late batik shopping sprint. The room is occupied by the massive and most comfy bed with a great view to the river - keep this in mind if you are carrying big luggage, there may not be a lot of space, but it is manageable. There is an electric kettle, complementary bottles of water, tea and instant coffee. Also, Liù offered a welcome basket of fruit! The bathroom was squeaky clean and toiletries were provided: shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes and combs. I wish I had stayed longer.
