The staff where so warm and welcoming and helpful, great restaurant recommendations and helped us organise a driver at very short notice. The view from our room was awesome - looking over the old roofs of the city to the city walls.

The staff was so kind and happy all the time, they helped me a lot and they speak English, which is pretty rare in China, even in some hotels. They gave me a map and recommended some places, also asked a taxi for me for the next day that I had my train to Beijing in the morning. The shared dorm was clean, had shampoo, air conditioner, clean sheets, futon, and pillow. Also curtains for privacy. I enjoyed my stay a lot. They even gave me a little souvenir on my way out and free water. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. Amazing price and just five minutes walking from North Gate of the old city. Supermarket right on the corner.

Room was cozy and clean. Since it is located inside the ancient city, was the classic atmosphere. Location is perfect and staff is super friendly and helpfull. Helped me with best typs to what to see, helped me with the pick-up from the train stattion. They also have an restaurant that has an excellent food. In the end, they even gave me a suvenir

Tips for Western travelers: cars can’t enter the old town, so message the hotel for pickup; wear comfortable shoes; and leave time to simply enjoy the courtyard—part heritage museum, part modern gallery. Staying at this hotel in Pingyao felt like discovering a historical gem. The building is beautiful and full of character, making the experience truly special. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. They also offer a free shuttle service to the train station, which was very convenient. The rooms are lovely and well equipped, with all the amenities you could possibly need. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pingyao.

We travelled in a group of 3 pax and requested for an additional bed; we were very happy to see this already arranged by the time we checked in after a long flight and given an upgrade to the executive size. Room was clean, spacious and bedding comfortable with a Nespresso machine in the room. We also enjoyed the diverse spread at breakfast - with lots of local fare and a good balance of non- local to choose from. We also appreciated the amazing speed of the staff who responded to our requests with friendliness and alacrity - the concierge desk, the bellboys and the ladies at the breakfast counters were very helpful during our stay. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay in Taiyuan
