The taxi journey from the centre of Popayan took me around the same neighbourhood for about an hour and it was stressful. Fortunately, my taxi driver had internet on his phone (I know I need to upgrade) and was eventually able to find the apartments nestled into nature. My frown melted away within seconds of seeing the apartment. From window to window, different views, trees, birds and breathing the fresh air. Diop and Marta, the dogs, the chickens are now part of my family. They always asked if I needed something from the centre or if I wanted to go with them. Exceptional people and exceptional staff. A comfortable apartment with lots of light, a workable kitchen including a large drip coffeemaker and comfortable couch in the joined living area. The bedroom is a good size with storage space. Hot shower works well. Restaurants are close by though after 3 pm the choice gets slimmer. There's also a large grocery store a couple of minutes away. Approximately 10 minutes walk away is the bus station and right behind it, the airport. Going to the central park and historic area is approx 15 minutes away
