This is the kind of place that I hope to find everywhere I travel: family-owned, comfortable, thoughtful, beautifully and stylishly appointed, well-located, secure, and welcoming with a sense of real humanity (not corporate gloss). The room was spacious and quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was huge. Plenty of places to set luggage and other necessities. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful and have a unique sense of personal style. The breakfast room is a dream, as was the breakfast itself: fresh fruit topped with lime zest, ultra-fresh arepas served with suero, and eggs cooked to order, plus excellent coffee and fresh juice. And the staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we (sadly!) had to leave. If you’re dithering on where to stay in Valledupar, let me convince you to stay here. I would, a thousand times.
