Surrounded by 860 private acres of tropical rainforest and featuring an on-site lake, a swimming pool, a sun terrace and games room, Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails is located within the Arenal... With one small exception, absolutely everything! If you want to stay near Arenal and explore the rainforests around the volcano, this is the place to go and stay. Views are out of this world and accomodations are great. Loved their focus on sustainability and eco-tourism. We stayed for three nights but could easily have spent a week.

Set in Fortuna, 10 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Manoa Resort & Hot Springs offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The hotel was a "horizontal" complex in that all rooms were at ground level with just two rooms per building and the buildings are scattered throughout the property. As the rooms were on ground floor the view was limited, I guess because of privacy concerns by just stepping out the the door the the Arenal volcano is right in front of you, an amazing view! The breakfast was a well stocked buffet and the a la carte restaurant was also very good. For a less formal atmosphere we tried the excellent Sushi bar at the pool that is open til 10pm. (There is also a pizza place but we didn't try them). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tours are available at the hotel and we took one to the volcano and another to jungle tour with suspension bridges. Both were good but we preferred the jungle tour. The thermal water hot pool was a great place to relax after hiking and sightseeing. If you have a car and feel a little adventurous the "Rio Celeste" in the Tenorio Volcano National Park is worth the trip. Its about 90mins from the hotel but be aware that the walking trail in the park is about 5 to 6 Km to take in all the viewing points and places can be uneven. To get to the waterfall there are perhaps 200 steps down (and then back up again!)

This is the second time we are at the Vulcano Hotel. The hot springs in the hotel are great and the possibility to use the hotel services before checking in to the rooms and after checking out is the best option in the area. The room was clean. Hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Clean and high-quality bedding. recommended.

Located in Fortuna, within 20 km of La Fortuna Waterfall and 7.2 km of Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, Arenal 360 Lodge provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property... I loved everything about the property, especially the view!!!! The cabins are very smart organized even if you booked a studio. The breakfast was very good and Wybe was very friendly and helped us to organize a great tour in Arenal.
