The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have allowed a local girl to cook all dinners. She buys all of the supplies, and all profits go to her. That is most impressive.

Orosi Lodge is located 5 minutes’ drive from Orosí mani square and 15 km from Cartago city centre. Free WiFi access is available in all areas. This lodge has thought out every little detail which makes you feel very well taken care of. From Christmas decoration of towels and toilet paper roll to earplugs (use them! The dogs and rooster have an early rise in the morning). A drawing on many activities and places to visit in the Orosi valley and an oral explanation made it easier to choose. Both reception, the garden and the room is very well decorated. A coffee machine and a small refrigerator is available. There are hand painted tiles of CR animals for sale as well as other handcrafts. Breakfast is great! The owners are available all day and helped us getting a tour of an organic coffee plantation organized. A very interesting tour. They also calmed us down when an earthquake happened saying “it’s just an earthquake” 😁

I Santa Cruz, 31 kilometer fra Ujarras Ruins, ligger Guayabo Lodge, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. We were very positively surprised! To start, the view from our room was beautiful (make sure you wake up for sunset!)! Spacious and clean room in a peaceful area (we were woken up only by the swallows). Big kuddo for the shower, the best pressure and "termales" feeling we had in the country! Convenient restaurant on site, with excellent food including vegetarian options. The garden was gorgeous. We spent a bit of time admiring the nearby wildlife it attracted. We also enjoyed the accessible small trails around. Helpful staff and particularly friendly and accommodating owners.
