We picked it based on the beautiful photos and glowing reviews—and it still managed to exceed our expectations. If anything, it’s even better in real life. The house is just lovely—full of charm, tastefully decorated with original features, and so much character. From the moment we booked, Allison and Ian were in touch, checking in about our arrival time and making sure everything was smooth. They’re such genuinely warm and welcoming people—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. When we arrived, we were shown around the house and the stunning, well-kept garden and pool area. There’s even a lovely guest living room where you can relax, which adds to the homely feel. Our room was spotless, cosy, and had gorgeous views of the mountains and church. Every little detail had clearly been thought through with care. Allison even offered to pop a pizza in the oven for us when we mentioned we were tired from the drive and unsure whether to go out again—that kind of thoughtful gesture really stood out. In the end, we did go out to the nearby lake restaurant they recommended, which was great, but the offer meant a lot. And then there was breakfast… Waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread and croissants was just incredible. It was easily the best breakfast of our trip—generous and delicious. We left feeling relaxed, well looked after, and already talking about when we might come back. It’s a truly special place with really special hosts. Couldn’t recommend it more.
