Set in Clermont-Ferrand, 3.9 km from Blaise Pascal University, Grand Mess Clermont-Ferrand offers accommodation with a terrace, private parking, a restaurant and a bar. We stayed at Hotel Grand Mess for 2 nights on either side of our road trip to Andorra in October 2025. The hotel is perfectly located, very convenient, and surrounded by loads of places to eat although most open in the evening. Our rooms were fab on both occasions, the breakfast was amazing, fresh and great quality, this felt like a proper french breakfast. The staff were great, we opted to park in the underground car park and paid 10 euro for each night but we could have also parked outside the hotel quite easily as there is ample space on the side too. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back and possibly stay longer too. It was the perfect stop after a 10hr drive from Lichfield, England.

A very clean and comfortable room with all amenities. We especially appreciated the breakfast bag and proximity to a park with a huge playground. Perfect for a one night stay on a roadtrip as it has convenient and free car parking:)

This 19th-century hotel is located in the centre of beautiful Mont Dore, and makes a wonderful base for exploring the Massif du Sancy. Beautiful, grand old hotel in the heart of Mont-Dore, perfectly located for walking around downtown. The breakfast was outstanding—eggs, pastries, hot oats, and more (French eggs really are superior!). Our room was lovely, with a full bed and a twin, ideal since I tend to twitch at night. Just note there’s no lift/elevator, which may matter for some travelers.

Auberge du Prieuré er staðsett í Saint-Angel og í innan við 22 km fjarlægð frá Neuvic d'Ussel-golfvellinum en það býður upp á verönd, reyklaus herbergi og ókeypis WiFi. The auberge provides everything you need when travelling and the rooms etc have been recently constructed to a very good standard. Breakfast was not provided but croissants etc were obtained from a nearby patisserie to accompany coffee provided in the restaurant adjoining the auberge. Saint Angel was good for an evening stroll.

Maison Côté Halle er með garð.La chambre du Parc" býður upp á gistirými í Saint-Flour, 45 km frá Pas de Peyrol og 27 km frá Casino Chaudes Aigues. A really excellent little room, comfortable and clean with lovely attention to detail. The location is perfect, right in the old town. Annick was extremely welcoming and looked after us very well. The breakfast, partly homemade, was a lovely feature. It also made a big difference to have a private off-road car parking space. All in all, highly recommended.

La Villa des Sources er gististaður í Langogne, 42 km frá Centre Culturel et de Congrès Pierre Cardinal og 42 km frá Le Puy-dómkirkjunni. Þaðan er útsýni yfir garðinn. we had dinner there in with the other guests and pleasant conversation with fellow travellers and our host Roman. Fab area, to stay in and travel through.
