We stayed at Hotel Grand Mess for 2 nights on either side of our road trip to Andorra in October 2025. The hotel is perfectly located, very convenient, and surrounded by loads of places to eat although most open in the evening. Our rooms were fab on both occasions, the breakfast was amazing, fresh and great quality, this felt like a proper french breakfast. The staff were great, we opted to park in the underground car park and paid 10 euro for each night but we could have also parked outside the hotel quite easily as there is ample space on the side too. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back and possibly stay longer too. It was the perfect stop after a 10hr drive from Lichfield, England.

The location is very central and easy to walk around the town. The staff was so very pleasant and helpful! They helped get us dinner reservations during the busy Ascension holiday weekend. Wonderful breakfast in the spacious downstairs. ample parking on the grounds. No elevator, but an easy climb up the wide spiral staircase, plus, we were helped with the luggage on arrival. The garden was lovely to lounge in. Our room was spacious and delightfully decorated.

The auberge provides everything you need when travelling and the rooms etc have been recently constructed to a very good standard. Breakfast was not provided but croissants etc were obtained from a nearby patisserie to accompany coffee provided in the restaurant adjoining the auberge. Saint Angel was good for an evening stroll.

A really excellent little room, comfortable and clean with lovely attention to detail. The location is perfect, right in the old town. Annick was extremely welcoming and looked after us very well. The breakfast, partly homemade, was a lovely feature. It also made a big difference to have a private off-road car parking space. All in all, highly recommended.

Room was wonderful. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Food all homemade, traditional, healthy and very tasty, and the playlist during dinner was befitting of a medieval castle. Beautiful walks surrounded the castle. And it was very pet friendly. Will definitely be back.
