Ashleigh House is set in Carlisle, 41 km from Askham Hall, 30 km from Thirlwall Castle, and 36 km from Brougham Castle. Leeanne, the owner made sure everything was great. Up to and including carrying my bag up to my room. Breakfast was relaxed and filled my needs.

Fellpack House in Keswick provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a bar and a shared lounge. Featuring a housekeeping service, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Everything was amazing: very clean, good location, great staff. We really liked the breakfast, it was really good. We will be back!

Situated in Kirkby Lonsdale and with Trough of Bowland reachable within 28 km, Red Dragon Inn features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Very cozy and charming place! It was our stopover between England and Scotland, and it didn't disappoint. Set in a quaint little town, this inn is right in the heart of it all. The rooms were perfectly cozy and comfortable, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommended!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. Staff couldn't do enough to help... Wonderful stay amazing breakfast...

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Beautifully decorated. The hotel had recently been updated and it was very nicely done. Extremely helpful staff members;

In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. The room was spacious and had a very good view of a small stream. The amenities were excellent. The bathroom fittings are exceptional and modern which are not a common sighting in Europe. The place is at walking distance from the railway station and the main market area. The host, Ian, is very friendly.

Your perfect lakes escape begins here, at our family-run hotel situated in the bustling village of Braithwaite. Beautiful rooms, quiet area, spotless clean, comfortable beds. Generous breakfast. I would stay again here!

Set in the village of Bowness, Latimer House Guest House offers 4-star accommodation with views of its surrounding gardens and of the village. The location of the guest house, was great, not too far from station and not too far from the city centre. Great transport links both ways and also loads of walking paths to take around

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is amazing, with a-la-carte eggs, and buffet with yogurt parfaits, breads, and other snacks. Beautiful dining room. On-site parking is an authentic local experience, but much appreciated. Staff were really wonderful and helpful. After-hours check in was flawless.

Set in 14 acres of landscaped grounds next to Furness Abbey, Abbey House Hotel offers luxurious rooms with historic features. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and free on-site parking. Driving up to the hotel to check in just after sunset was magical. Our entire family of 9 spontaneously said “wow” in unison. The fairy lights, immaculate gardens and fabulous entrance was just the beginning. Seriously, if we could score 15 out of 10 we would. Every little detail was perfect from beautifully styled decor, elegant, spacious rooms and outstanding service. And the Furness Abbey ruins were only a 10minute walk through the property gardens. We were on a road trip to see castles and historical sites so this really took the whole experience to the next level. I can’t imagine we’ll be able to top this stay again in our travels.
