Ashleigh House is set in Carlisle, 41 km from Askham Hall, 30 km from Thirlwall Castle, and 36 km from Brougham Castle. The host was so lovely We felt like we were at home. Breakfast was fabulous and so good having fresh fruit. Clean & Tidy. Parking close by.

It was our stopover between England and Scotland, and it didn't disappoint. Set in a quaint little town, this inn is right in the heart of it all. The rooms were perfectly cozy and comfortable, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommended!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. As a cyclist I asked to laundry. They did with no charge.

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Beautifully decorated. The hotel had recently been updated and it was very nicely done. Extremely helpful staff members;

The room was stunning, I couldn’t have asked for anything better and I had the best night sleep. The guest house is very safe and secure, which made me feel 10x more comfortable on my first solo trip. Barely a 5 minute walk down to the lakeside, with plenty bars and food places to choose from nearby

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Location, our room was comfortable, shower wonderful. Great breakfast and staff friendly. We’ve been here before and will return again

Travelling to meet family in Barrow. Liked the friendly staff especially in the bar and restaurant who went out of their way to help. The breakfasts and choice the cleanliness,easy parking. The view from our room Would definitely stay again. Close to the lake district. I'm
