Ashleigh House is set in Carlisle, 41 km from Askham Hall, 30 km from Thirlwall Castle, and 36 km from Brougham Castle. A lovely property that is run by a very accommodating host. The breakfast was among the best I've ever experienced, the room nice and clean and very close to the town center. Had to do some work and the WiFi worked great.

Fellpack House in Keswick provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a bar and a shared lounge. Featuring a housekeeping service, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Very nice and helpful staff, spacious and clean room, delicious choice of breakfasts and a great location near the lake/town centre/bus station make Fellpack House the ideal place to stay for a visit in Keswick. Thank you very much for everything - we really enjoyed our time here and hope to be back in the future!!

Situated in Kirkby Lonsdale and with Trough of Bowland reachable within 28 km, Red Dragon Inn features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Very cozy and charming place! It was our stopover between England and Scotland, and it didn't disappoint. Set in a quaint little town, this inn is right in the heart of it all. The rooms were perfectly cozy and comfortable, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommended!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV.

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. We arrived early and the lady said if we came about 1pm we could have the afternoon tea and the rooms would probably be available. The hotel is immaculate and very tastefully decorated. We were also very kindly upgraded . We had dinner that evening in the sister hotel The Inn at Grassmere, very nice bar food. Weather was atrocious on way home, so we sat in the lounge in Bridge house with a drink . What I also liked about the Bridge house hotel was that it is Adult only and Dog free. Don't get me wrong I like animals but not in hotel's and while I am eating. It is very hard to find hotels these days a especially in the lake district that are dog free. Bathroom was large, lovely large fluffy towels. Great shower. Breakfast next morning was delicious and very filling. We were able to leave our car in the carpark while we did a quick walk around the village. It's definitely on my list to return and to recommend.

In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. Everything was excellent , the setting and proximity to the town. The room and bathroom were spacious, well decorated and clean. Breakfast was first class. A very enjoyable experience and will stay again next year when in the area

Your perfect lakes escape begins here, at our family-run hotel situated in the bustling village of Braithwaite. The property was gorgeous- recently renovated and incredibly luxurious. It’s far enough outside the bustle of Keswick that it feels peacefully off the beaten path, but remains close enough that the main town in the area is easily accessible by bus. The breakfast great and all of the staff members I interacted with were incredibly kind.

Set in the village of Bowness, Latimer House Guest House offers 4-star accommodation with views of its surrounding gardens and of the village. The room was stunning, I couldn’t have asked for anything better and I had the best night sleep. The guest house is very safe and secure, which made me feel 10x more comfortable on my first solo trip. Barely a 5 minute walk down to the lakeside, with plenty bars and food places to choose from nearby

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Lovely big room. Very convenient parking. Extremely nice staff. Excellent breakfast.
