Ashleigh House está ubicado en Carlisle, a 30 km de Thirlwall Castle y a 36 km de Brougham Castle. Leeanne, the owner made sure everything was great. Up to and including carrying my bag up to my room. Breakfast was relaxed and filled my needs.

A Home Away from Home The room may not be large, but it is cozy and impeccably clean. The homemade shortbread (complimentary) is absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly, and Candy, who is as sweet as her name suggests, even picked us up when we struggled to find the house using the postcode. The location is perfect, just a short walk away from Crow Park, Hope Park, and Derwent Lake. Next time we visit Keswick, or if any of my family or friends do, we will definitely stay at Fellback again. The breakfasts were heavenly.

Red Dragon Inn está ubicado en Kirkby Lonsdale, a 28 km de Bosque de Bowland, y tiene un restaurante, habitaciones libre de humo, wifi gratis y un bar. Great breakfast, lovely evening meal and friendly staff. Room a nice size, it’s our 5th stay so must be good!

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Very friendly, home from home vibe. Great location with lots of excellent walks and pubs nearby. Everywhere very clean and breakfast / scones were lovely.

Set in the village of Bowness, Latimer House Guest House offers 4-star accommodation with views of its surrounding gardens and of the village. This is a self service situation without staff in house but it did feel like we were living in our own grand house. So it was something different. The rooms were comfortable, clean and great tv and coffee facilities. Great location too in the centre of town. 10/10

Professional team who get you to your room quick and efficient. The rooms are simple but modern, spacious and clean. What a pleasure. Onsite parking an absolute bonus.

Set in 14 acres of landscaped grounds next to Furness Abbey, Abbey House Hotel offers luxurious rooms with historic features. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and free on-site parking. Driving up to the hotel to check in just after sunset was magical. Our entire family of 9 spontaneously said “wow” in unison. The fairy lights, immaculate gardens and fabulous entrance was just the beginning. Seriously, if we could score 15 out of 10 we would. Every little detail was perfect from beautifully styled decor, elegant, spacious rooms and outstanding service. And the Furness Abbey ruins were only a 10minute walk through the property gardens. We were on a road trip to see castles and historical sites so this really took the whole experience to the next level. I can’t imagine we’ll be able to top this stay again in our travels.
