The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. The hotel sits in its own mature grounds, with beautiful views overlooking the River Rothay.

Free parking is included for guests. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Was able to watch the chef prepare in the kitchen.

With free parking and free Wi-Fi, it serves hearty breakfasts cooked to order. Guests can swim in the property's off-site pool. Located in a perfect location within walking distance of a number of eating establishments Breakfast and staff were extremely helpful. Had a room on the top floor with a vertical spiral staircase. Ask for this room. Provided parking which was also a plus. The rate should have been higher as one could not ask for more. Would have paid more without a second thought.

Free parking is also available at Latimer House. The room was stunning, I couldn’t have asked for anything better and I had the best night sleep. The guest house is very safe and secure, which made me feel 10x more comfortable on my first solo trip. Barely a 5 minute walk down to the lakeside, with plenty bars and food places to choose from nearby
