Ashleigh House ligt op 30 km van Thirlwall Castle en 36 km van Brougham Castle, en biedt kamers in Carlisle. Leeanne, the owner made sure everything was great. Up to and including carrying my bag up to my room. Breakfast was relaxed and filled my needs.

It was our stopover between England and Scotland, and it didn't disappoint. Set in a quaint little town, this inn is right in the heart of it all. The rooms were perfectly cozy and comfortable, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommended!

Victorian House ligt in Grasmere, op 12 km van Windermere. Het biedt beperkte parkeergelegenheid en wordt aangeboden op basis van wie het eerst komt, het eerst maalt. Staff couldn't do enough to help... Wonderful stay amazing breakfast...

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Prachtige locatie middenin de natuur en heuvels. Groot en gezellig huis met alles wat je nodig hebt. Ruime slaapkamers met elk een eigen badkamer. Er was een probleem met de slaapplek voor 1 persoon, maar het personnel loste dit binnen een mum van tijd op door een gratis overnachting in het hotel aan te bieden. Ook ontvingen wij een lief kaartje en chocola voor wat wij aan het vieren waren, erg attent! Complimenten aan Rhian die daar werkzaam is.

Glencree ligt tussen de dorpen Bowness en Windermere, in een prachtige omgeving van Lakeland met uitzicht op een idyllische beek. The room was spacious and had a very good view of a small stream. The amenities were excellent. The bathroom fittings are exceptional and modern which are not a common sighting in Europe. The place is at walking distance from the railway station and the main market area. The host, Ian, is very friendly.

Set in the village of Bowness, Latimer House Guest House offers 4-star accommodation with views of its surrounding gardens and of the village. The location of the guest house, was great, not too far from station and not too far from the city centre. Great transport links both ways and also loads of walking paths to take around

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is amazing, with a-la-carte eggs, and buffet with yogurt parfaits, breads, and other snacks. Beautiful dining room. On-site parking is an authentic local experience, but much appreciated. Staff were really wonderful and helpful. After-hours check in was flawless.

Set in 14 acres of landscaped grounds next to Furness Abbey, Abbey House Hotel offers luxurious rooms with historic features. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and free on-site parking. Driving up to the hotel to check in just after sunset was magical. Our entire family of 9 spontaneously said “wow” in unison. The fairy lights, immaculate gardens and fabulous entrance was just the beginning. Seriously, if we could score 15 out of 10 we would. Every little detail was perfect from beautifully styled decor, elegant, spacious rooms and outstanding service. And the Furness Abbey ruins were only a 10minute walk through the property gardens. We were on a road trip to see castles and historical sites so this really took the whole experience to the next level. I can’t imagine we’ll be able to top this stay again in our travels.
