Bare 30 kilometer fra Thirlwall Castle og 36 kilometer fra Brougham Castle ligger Ashleigh House, som tilbyr overnatting i Carlisle. It was clean and quaint, the host was lovely! Great find.

I Keswick, 2,9 kilometer fra Derwentwater, ligger Fellpack House, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. Absolutely lovely rooms, staff and breakfast. Beautiful view from the room. Close to the city center. Private parking available

Red Dragon Inn ligger i Kirkby Lonsdale, med Trough of Bowland bare 28 kilometer unna. Overnattingsstedet har en restaurant, røykfrie rom, gratis WiFi og en bar. Great breakfast, lovely evening meal and friendly staff. Room a nice size, it’s our 5th stay so must be good!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. Helt fantastisk sted med så nydelig personale💃💃💃💃🕺🕺💖Vi fikk et flott rom i 1 etasje og frokosten var hærlig 👍deilig stooor seng,koslig hus og det var små kaker i foajeen på kvelden 😋vi kunne også hatt med hunden vår,men hun var hjemme🐾Elsket det stedet,virkelig å anbefale 😘

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. We arrived early and the lady said if we came about 1pm we could have the afternoon tea and the rooms would probably be available. The hotel is immaculate and very tastefully decorated. We were also very kindly upgraded . We had dinner that evening in the sister hotel The Inn at Grassmere, very nice bar food. Weather was atrocious on way home, so we sat in the lounge in Bridge house with a drink . What I also liked about the Bridge house hotel was that it is Adult only and Dog free. Don't get me wrong I like animals but not in hotel's and while I am eating. It is very hard to find hotels these days a especially in the lake district that are dog free. Bathroom was large, lovely large fluffy towels. Great shower. Breakfast next morning was delicious and very filling. We were able to leave our car in the carpark while we did a quick walk around the village. It's definitely on my list to return and to recommend.

In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. Lovely building and the room was superb. Lots of attention to detail with furnishings. Bed huge and super comfy. Staff were great and Ian was fantastic with us as we arrived a little early but Ian let us have our room so we could go out around Windermere without having to come back to check in. This was much appreciated.

Your perfect lakes escape begins here, at our family-run hotel situated in the bustling village of Braithwaite. The room is clean. The breakfast is superb. The price is of great value. The restaurant offers also nice food for lunch and dinner. Dessert is a delight. The location is slightly away from the crowd but still very accessible to most attractions around. It’s definitely our choice when we’ll do a similar trip in the future.

Set in the village of Bowness, Latimer House Guest House offers 4-star accommodation with views of its surrounding gardens and of the village. The property was clean,warm and comfortable! And great location!

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. We loved our stay here!! We were very well welcomed. Beautiful warm rooms with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. Super great location.
