Check-in was very smooth and the staff was so kind and helpful. We even received a tour of the castle wedding facility before we left...SO BEAUTIFUL.!! Our story is 50 years ago we dated as 14 and 15 year olds for 8 years then as we acquired degrees, jobs, and moves to separate cities we lost our way together and each married other people...after my husband passed away, he reached out to me with condolences, and we just kept on chatting for some reason. Found ourselves meeting up occasionally since we live in different states and recently on this trip to England together. Wanting to stay in an English castle while here, I booked the Sneaton Castle for 1 night since we were visiting Whitby and not realizing it was mainly a wedding venue until we arrived, we checked into a suite which by the way was fabulous.!! I received a tour of the chapel and fell in love instantly...his first marriage was in the front yard of his home, I eloped and mine was in a little chapel in Reno, NV both not your typical "fairytale weddings" and when I showed him the chapel there at Sneaton Castle even his eyes lit up and I said, "Will you marry me, here.?" He smiled, and shook his head YES, someday...we were pleasantly surprised with the tour of the gardens and the reception area...I've been dreaming about it since.!! Excellent job on renovations of every area.!! Not one thing left undone...again, IT'S FABULOUS.!!! Dreaming of a wedding in my future at Sneaton Castle and I'm 67 years young...never stop dreaming.!!

Die Unterkunft St Marys Guest House befindet sich in York, 900 m von York Minster und 600 m von Bahnhof York entfernt. Caroline and the staff were all so warm, friendly, and attentive. The room and dining room were really clean and cosy, and the best was super comfortable. We really appreciated all the thoughtful touches like the multi way plug and the additional heater (not that we needed it in the end)! We were really made to feel at home and looked after from greeting through to our dietary requirements (two vegans, one gluten intolerant). St Mary's is also in a great location for exploring York - just a short walk from the centre but in a quiet and leafy street beside the museum gardens.

Set on York’s Clifton Road, Burton Stone Inn offers free WiFi access and 1 guaranteed parking space per room for all guests. Das Burton Stone Inn ist ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Quartier! Das Zimmer war geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bot ebenso wie das Bad großzügig Platz. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und informativ. Auch das Frühstücksangebot ist sehr vielfältig und gut mit besonders freundlicher Bedienung. Die Lage ist hervorragend - in ca. 10 Minuten nur die Straße entlang erreicht man zu Fuss das Zentrum.
