We had a lovely stay at Casa Aleman. Host Detlev and his family welcomed us heartily and were very kind. The place was wonderful with a very comfortable bed, nice shower and of course the amazing terrace with hammock. The view over the lake was spectacular, and perfect for watching the sun set. We very much enjoyed our stay, so much so, that we returned a week later for 2 additional nights. Highly recommend Thank you Detlev & family!

Hosts are the best! They are really helpful. They helped us to book trips to Tikal and Belize city and also booked boats (even in odd times) to Flores. They are really nice. Property is 5 mins boat ride across Flores town. It’s in a nice garden and has amazing views of the lake.

Quiet, beautiful, sounds of nature. Perfect facilities (great shower). Beds, even in dorm are large and comfortable. Lovely restaurant/bar. The food was really good and varied. The atmosphere is great. They’ll help with whatever you need, ongoing travels, tours in the area etc. Can’t recommend enough.

The property is beautiful. We stayed 6 nights and would have stayed longer! Our cabin was the oldest one and the bathroom was rather lacking but was made up for by the lovely private patio that opened directly onto the lake’s edge. Housekeeping was immaculate. Breakfast and dinner are provided and very good Pool was cleaned daily. Most people swam in the lake which is warm. Highly recommended

The best hotel where we have been in Guatemala. The common areas and the rooms are extremely clean and super nicely set up, with all what you need, from fan to blanket. Dimensions of accommodation is also much better than average. Position is a bit outside the village but I loved it as it’s quiet and overlooking the lake. The staff went above and beyond. Always friendly, discreet but ready to help. we ordered dinner and got amazing food freshly cooked. A fab place where I’d love to stay again if I come back.

I feel like the place was renovated and is way nicer than what the photos show. The location is super close to the bus to Tikal and to the center of El Remate. The owner will also give you some tips on getting there via Bus if you ask.

We had such a wonderful stay that we kept on extending our stay.
