In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place. The location was stunning and the staff (especially Angela) super friendly. The food was very delicious!

A beatiful hotel on an amazing property overlooking the castillo and the Izabal lake. The kind and welcoming staff make it feel like a homestay experience, but will all the perks of a super comfortable hotel. Food was pretty good as well.

Lovely lodge in the jungle. Suggestive location with rooms in the canals with crocodiles (don’t worry they wont eat you!). Rooms were perfect for being a lodge. A couple of nice activities are available such as a walk in the jungle and kayak in the lake. Most pleasant surprise was the food… simply extraordinary for a low price compared to Europe, and I’m quite picky usually as Italian.
