The hostel is in a quiet area, but a 10-minute Grab ride takes you to the train station. Lila was very welcoming and helped me book transport to Yogyakarta. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for comfort without breaking the bank!

Situated in Malang, Casa de Vie Tunggulwulung is a recently renovated accommodation, 3.5 km from Museum Mpu Purwa and 3.9 km from Tlogomas Recreation Park. My husband and I stayed there for like 3 nights. He is French and is quite picky as a person but he did not complaint at all when we stay at this homestay which is rare experience we had in Indonesia. The room is clean, the house is cute, the staffs are very helpful. We even extended 2 more nights because we enjoyed Malang City. Our experience was amazing. We did Bromo Tour with them and we even had 2 box of breakfast. They gave us a bunch of recommendation in Malang including restaurant and we went to a special bakery place that has authentic french toast for breakfast that they recommended. We loved it so much. Overall, we had a good time :)

Offering a garden and mountain view, Maison Manendra - Bromo is located in Gubukklakah, 22 km from Mount Bromo and 25 km from Velodrome Malang. We stayed in the mountain view room for two nights. Since it was the rainy season, we didn't visit Bromo but instead spent time exploring the nearby villages and viewpoints to soak in the volcanic atmosphere. The room was clean and cozy with plenty of hot water and a stunning view. The hosts were incredibly warm and friendly, always ready with helpful information. We also loved the delicious organic home-cooked meals! Highly recommended-this is the perfect place to experience Bromo and the local culture.
