Situated in Malang, Casa de Vie Tunggulwulung is a recently renovated accommodation, 3.5 km from Museum Mpu Purwa and 3.9 km from Tlogomas Recreation Park. I was looking for accommodation at the last minute and luckily they had a room available. I was even able to check in in the morning, which I really appreciated. Annas took care of me throughout my stay and he was really helpful and friendly. He speaks excellent English, so I was able to ask him about interesting things to see in Malang and Indonesia in general. I definitely recommend this accommodation😊

Offering a garden and mountain view, Maison Manendra - Bromo is located in Gubukklakah, 22 km from Mount Bromo and 25 km from Velodrome Malang. Maison Manendra is not only a hotel/guesthouse but a whole concept. The rooms are big and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom with a warm water shower. The food is good and portions are generous. You mostly eat at a big table with other guests but if you don't like it you are not forced to socialize. After dinner, Rani and Oussama ask what you are planning to do the next day. If you are planning to do the Bromo walking tour and other guests like to join, you share a car (and the cost of it)... or not if you prefer to go alone. We had the chance to share cars for the Bromo walking tour and for the Tumpak Sewu waterfall and could cut the cost and have a good time with fellow travellers. Rani and Oussama offer solutions for most of your travelling problems: transportation to Maison Manendra from Malang, Bromo Tour without other people around you, tour to Tumpak Sewu with a fantastic guide, taxi to Surabaya... and many more. Rani and Oussama travel a lot in and out of Indonesia and are well aware of what you need during your Java trip. If you are looking for luxury, it is not the place for you. As for myself, I got far more than I expected. Merci Rani et Oussama, c'était absolument super!

Set in Sidomukti, 34 km from Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Indah Damai Cottages has a private beach area, parking on-site and rooms with free WiFi access. Staff was extremely helpful and kind, they promptly fulfilled all our wishes and cared for our wellbeing. Cottage was comfy, food was great, and the mountain view is spectacular! Thanks a lot, we really enjoyed our stay!

The owners were very accommodating and helpful with everything, helped us arrange tours of ijen, transport for when we got to Bali, transport around where we stayed, food made fresh in house and very tasty, would definitely recommend.

Situated within 36 km of Mount Lamongan and 45 km of Mount Bromo, Brak Homestay features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Sukobumi. Lovely home stay, comfy beds, very helpful and kind owner. He told us of all the options to visit Mount Bromo (one could book the tour directly via the owner) and we ended up staying at Brak for 2 nights and doing the Mt Bromo trip directly from Probolinggo. We pre-ordered a Gojek (like Grab) at 2 am for 250k, the driver drove us to Cemorolawang, we did the hike and everything, had breakfast in Cemorolawang, then came back to Probolinggo. We can back with the same driver, but one can easily also use the shared minivans, it is easy to get from Cemorolawang to Probolinggo during the day. When we came back, the owner greeted us with tea and we had a good rest. Doing Mt. Bromo from Probolinggo is easy and less tiresome, we’re happy we chose this way! I can only recommend this guesthouse, this was Indonesian hospitality at its best that we experienced.
