Situated in Malang, Casa de Vie Tunggulwulung is a recently renovated accommodation, 3.5 km from Museum Mpu Purwa and 3.9 km from Tlogomas Recreation Park. Talk about luck! I tried to book their hostel again, but they were fully booked! Luckily, I switched to their homestay, and the service was just as wonderful. While the location is a little out of town, the fantastic service completely made up for it! The room was spotlessly clean, and their bed was seriously comfortable. Being able to watch Netflix right in my room? That’s a luxury I rarely found throughout my trip in Indonesia!

Offering a garden and mountain view, Maison Manendra - Bromo is located in Gubukklakah, 22 km from Mount Bromo and 25 km from Velodrome Malang. Maison Manendra is not only a hotel/guesthouse but a whole concept. The rooms are big and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom with a warm water shower. The food is good and portions are generous. You mostly eat at a big table with other guests but if you don't like it you are not forced to socialize. After dinner, Rani and Oussama ask what you are planning to do the next day. If you are planning to do the Bromo walking tour and other guests like to join, you share a car (and the cost of it)... or not if you prefer to go alone. We had the chance to share cars for the Bromo walking tour and for the Tumpak Sewu waterfall and could cut the cost and have a good time with fellow travellers. Rani and Oussama offer solutions for most of your travelling problems: transportation to Maison Manendra from Malang, Bromo Tour without other people around you, tour to Tumpak Sewu with a fantastic guide, taxi to Surabaya... and many more. Rani and Oussama travel a lot in and out of Indonesia and are well aware of what you need during your Java trip. If you are looking for luxury, it is not the place for you. As for myself, I got far more than I expected. Merci Rani et Oussama, c'était absolument super!

Set in Sidomukti, 34 km from Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Indah Damai Cottages has a private beach area, parking on-site and rooms with free WiFi access. Staff was extremely helpful and kind, they promptly fulfilled all our wishes and cared for our wellbeing. Cottage was comfy, food was great, and the mountain view is spectacular! Thanks a lot, we really enjoyed our stay!

Set in Kalibendo, 28 km from Watu Dodol, L'JAVAS VILLAS offers accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a restaurant. The best homestay in the area, all renewed, clean, and very important, the restroom is completely new, very good quality price, and the guy from reception is very helpful and nice. The best experience if you want to visit Ijen volcano, they have masks and lights for customers and helps with the medical certificate needed for visit the volcano. THANKS THANKS THANKS

Offering mountain views, Mountain Ecolodge is an accommodation situated in Gubukklakah, 24 km from Bentoel Museum and 25 km from Bima Sakti Hall. A great location in the midst of nature, detached from others. Great view from the room and from the terrace, fresh air. Located between Malang and Bromo, so it is very convenient to go from the ecolodge to the Bromo tour. Scooters can be only rented on Malang, better to take minumun 120cc if you want to travel around, for example, to Sewu waterfall. Gojek works, but in the evening there maybe problems to get one, get a car in advance or ask the owner. The owners btw are very very cool and helpful! Thank you for helping us out!!!! Prepare warm clothes and socks.
