More than all, the team is AMAZING. I felt like home right on arrival. Mimi, Julia and Ringo are the best people you could expect in this kind of remote location. They made my stay wonderful !!

We didn't have much expectations coming to Terimakasih, but the stay completely exceeded any expectation we could have formed. The pictures on booking don't do the property justice; the cabins, view, restaurant, general facilities were all excellent. The staff was so friendly, and always ready to help. They cleaned the cabin daily and we got banana fritters as snack in the afternoon (still dreaming about them). It was so relaxing in the hammock on the porch, and it wasn't hot with the breeze from the ocean. It was my happy place for a small week. The house reef was colourful and full of fish. In the evening we saw bioluminesence around the cabin in the water. As far as homestays go- this one outshines them (speaking for experience). I'd rather you didn't book so there will always be a place for me, but I understand if you do based on this review :) It has all the ingredients for a wonderful vacation. Thanks, Mario + team.

Thank you Aco for this dream stay! We are leaving this place with a heavy heart but filled with wonder. This was a true 'coup de cœur' for us. The beachfront bungalow right on the sand offered a heavenly location where you feel completely surrounded by nature and the authentic spirit of Raja Ampat. The food was absolutely delicious every single day! A huge thanks to Aco and the entire team who were wonderful and supported us in all our plans and expeditions. The excursions offered by the homestay are incredible, and the marine life is simply magical. One piece of advice: at night, you must go to the jetty to look at the starry sky. If you are lucky, you might even see the water sparkling with bioluminescent plankton. Terima kasih much for everything, we will never forget this little paradise!

The room is good and clean, but fairly basic. The terrace on the other hand is outstanding. It's worth spending a night in Waisai just so you can stay here! The food was the best I had in Raja Ampat.

Excellent location, extremely clean room and great aircon. Maria is a lovely host and excellent cook, she also runs a small bakery here. She also organised a scooter for me to explore Waisai. We were only there for a night so didn’t enquire about tours. The bathroom is very spacious, and the beds comfortable and clean. This is really a hidden gem, it’s within walking distance to the harbour so perfect for an overnight stay before heading to Raja Ampat. You can also relax on the swing on the jetty. We were so lucky to find this clean homestay! We also felt very safe as they lock the gate to the jetty and our boom in the evenings. Definitely would stay here again on the way to Raja Ampat.

My wife, my father, and I stayed at Marlina Homestay from 20/12/25 to 26/12/25, and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our time in Raja Ampat. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel genuinely welcome. They were incredibly friendly, warm, and always happy to help, while still giving us plenty of space to enjoy our stay at our own pace. The homestay provides all the essentials you need to be comfortable, nothing more, nothing less. This was something we really appreciated, as it didn’t take away from the raw, natural feeling of Raja Ampat. It felt authentic, simple, and perfectly in tune with the surroundings. The location is truly spectacular, tucked away in its own quiet corner of paradise. With only two huts, we loved the privacy and the sense of peace and isolation, it really felt like we had escaped from the world. Despite feeling so remote, Marlina Homestay is also just a quick scoot away from the iconic Piaynemo, making it easy to visit one of Raja Ampat’s most famous viewpoints. One of the highlights was the nearby reef known as Fantastic Reef. The diversity and sheer abundance of marine life there were unbelievable, easily the best reef we experienced anywhere in Raja Ampat. Another small but important detail was having a private bathroom, which added a level of comfort and convenience that really set Marlina Homestay apart from other places offering a more minimalist experience. We would highly recommend Marlina Homestay to anyone looking to truly disconnect, experience a different and quieter side of Raja Ampat, and who is comfortable with simplicity. It’s a special place, and we’re very grateful we had the chance to stay there.

The feeling of being in a paradise beach surrounded by nature. If you like the ocean, i cant imagine a better place to be; dolphins jumping just 50 m from your cabin, black tip sharks and turtles swimming around the reef every day, a lot of species of birds… definitely the experience I was looking for in Raja Ampat. The stuff is super friendly, always willing to help and make your stay better, the food is amazing and the reef is very healthy and full of life. I was diving with Olin Dive Center, and they pick you up and drop you right in front of your cabin. If you have a Telkomsel sim card, internet works from 7pm to 12 am. I’m traveling alone, so the first day it was a little hard to get used to the sound of silence, but after the first night everything changed. About the commodities: very clean and I found the bed very comfortable. There is running water coming from a well on the backyard. Indoor and outdoor shower. Electricity runs from 6pm to 12pm.

The homestay owner, Arlan, and his wife, Grace, are so cheerful and welcoming! It was such a pleasure talking with them! They had a wonderful house on the water, with amazing views and sleeping to the sound of the waves! What could be better? They also gave me a wonderful manta ray trip! And with Arlan and his brother, we went boating in Pianemo. It was a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you, Arlan, and thank you, Grace!

Great view of the sea from on high. Nice deck to sit at. Steven, a staff member, helps with whatever you need. The drink water has a hot & cold spigot. Cold water a treat in the tropics.
