What really made the experience special were the owners, Kavya and Rohan. They’re genuinely warm, friendly, and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It never felt like I was just a guest, more like I was staying with friends. The best part? The people. I met some amazing souls during my stay and made new friends effortlessly. Conversations flowed, laughs were shared, and the atmosphere made it so easy to connect. If you’re looking for a place in Pondy with good energy, kind hosts, and a community feel — Unpack Hostel is it. Would happily stay here again ❤️

The location is fantastic. Easy walking distance to any attractions and food in the area, and it's on a quiet tree lined street. The room itself is simple but comfortable. And most of all I appreciated the hosts friendly and helpful attitude!

Loved the way they have made the property, it has this very nice industrial design yet so cozy. Went with my parents and they absolutely loved staying in the Sea View room. Ostel had these really fun evening activities to participate in. We attended the Indo-african drumming circle and Bonfire event which was pretty cool. Planning my next trip already. It’s also quite close to most of the places in Auroville, so that was great.

Beautifully renovated old Tamil House. With the excellent care of staff, one feels right at home. The location is close enough to downtown, yet quiet that one enjoys a good rest. We walked every day down town - enjoying the shore promenade in the old town, but also made use of the shuttle service once on the last day. The food is just so very tasty. Vanaja makes each meal a feast. Ramji feels like a good uncle taking care of you and is always there to help. Mukesh manages everything like a champ, so visitors are in no need to worry...and can just enjoy a stay at a good location with a fabulous team. The team consists of many more members who work tirelessly to make your stay memorable. One special mention on a personal note: One of the dogs was always ready to cuddle...im missing her.
