I cannot describe how amazing the room with private onsen is. Super spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view to the mountains. Breakfast and dinner were delicious (buffet style), enough vegetarian options. There's a free drink bar available for the afternoon/evening hours as well. I didn't use the public bath because they don't allow visible tattoo's though.

Rooms were clean and they provide free shuttle service to the ski resort. There is even a facilities for kids playroom and table tennis for free. Breakfast and dinner provided were of great quality and delicious. Definitely recommended for stay here!

We stayed at Kobayashi-san’s accommodation for three nights, and it was truly one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. うご八かやぶ㐂 is a very special place. When we arrived, it began to snow, and by the next morning the house was surrounded by nearly half a meter of fresh snow. From the moment you enter, you can see the immense care and effort Kobayashi-san has put into restoring this beautiful old Japanese house. The traditional interior, with sleeping on tatami mats and futons, creates an authentic and peaceful atmosphere. The attention to detail is visible everywhere. Despite the house’s long history, it offers all the comforts of modern life. A particular highlight after long days of skiing was the makiburo (wood-fired bath), with the fire carefully prepared by Kobayashi-san, providing a wonderfully hot and relaxing soak. Kobayashi-san went far beyond what we expected from a host—serving us delicious tea, making sure the traditional heaters and ovens were always fired, and constantly clearing the heavy snowfall so we could easily access the house and our car. Breakfast was an elaborate and memorable Japanese dining experience, prepared with great care and attention by Kobayashi-san and Abe-san. We also highly recommend the sake tasting, all produced from rice grown by Kobayashi-san himself. Overall, this was a truly one-of-a-kind stay, and we would love to return someday.

One of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed at. I stayed in the dorms for just one night, so I was not expecting too much, but it was incredibly comfortable, luxurious and warm. Beautiful old building, beautiful people working here and the sauna, my god, amazing.

They have a garden around the hotel and they grow and farm their vegetables themselves. We had a very filling bento box dinner that was filled with amazing food. The place was clean, cozy, and warm. We'd love to stay longer if we could.

Very attentive and warned us beforehand of bad weather via message and offered a ride if need be as we were travelling by foot and trains only.
