Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Okawaso offers accommodation in Aizuwakamatsu, 13 km from Aizu Higashiyama Onsen. Each room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a TV. Possibly the best hotel/ short stay experience I have ever had. The service was exceptional with excellent facilities to spend your time relaxing in - with a large beautiful lounge with a fire pit, live shamisen performances daily from 4pm to 6pm. The public onsen had incredible outdoor views with the terraced pools giving you an option to sit under cover or out in the elements (it was snowing during our visit so it was idyllic). With the additional option to rent out a private onsen also, you are spoiled for choice. The staff were incredibly helpful in suggesting activities and also providing information on how to use the local train services on the Aizu line to support our day trip to Ouchi-juku as well as our journey to our next destination. Helpful tip- you can pay for train tickets at Ashinomaki onsen station before or after a trip on the train, to save any stress or doubt over carrying the correct change coins (but make sure you have cash to cover all of it!)

Sansuiso Tsuchiyu Spa provides a sauna and a hot spring bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Fukushima, 24 km from Nihonmatsu Station. Loved everything! Best way to relax and let your body soak into the onsen waters. Food 10/10 also!

Tagoto features a hot public bath, Japanese-style and Western rooms and Japanese cuisine, a 5-minute drive from Aizu Wakamatsu Station. This is the place where you should go if you would like to eat some amazing Japanese food. It is a traditional ryokan that serves various dishes for dinner and breakfast. I enjoyed spending there 2 nights. The nearby area is full of curios shops and Tsuruga Castle is within 30 minutes on a walk (better to walk following Dr. Noguchi Street, it has a nice vibe) I was traveling by bicycle and they helped me to store it inside.

Amazing host that made us feel welcome with good communication before the stay and via instruction manuals inside the property. Everything was clean and new. Facilities for children well thought out. Property is great for families with a large table and space for suitcases as well as basic cooking facilities. Location is a 3 minute drive from Fukushima Aquamarine and 25 minutes from Hawaiian resort by car.

Set in Fukushima, 11 km from Minami-Fukushima Station and 18 km from Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium, 昭和の家anzu 二階建ての一棟貸切 offers air conditioning. Staying here is cheaper than in a hotel. I could live there.

Yama (host) is amazing! The guesthouse was spacious, clean and conveniently located. Yama provided amazing tourist attraction and food recommendations for nearby areas. We loved the tatami floored bedroom, the futon beds were very comfortable!
