An unforgettable and truly unique experience! We loved everything about this place. Staying in a former Japanese school turned into accommodation is something special, and I’m so glad the “school vibe” has been thoughtfully preserved. The host was wonderful and made us feel genuinely welcome. The mountain location is beautiful and peaceful, and it ended up being one of the nicest, most memorable parts of our trip. We also really enjoyed the community atmosphere, it’s the kind of place where you meet interesting people and the whole stay feels warm and alive.

The location, the staff, the amenities. The hotel is within the Old Town and nearby shops and restaurants. Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. We were extremely happy about our stay . Very spacious room, comfortable beds . The common spaces are very spacious and cozy. The location is great to walk to the center.

6.4 km from Mt. Ena Weston Park, まち宿-machiyard- is a recently renovated property set in Nakatsugawa and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Very friendly and welcoming staff, clean and cute rooms, that you could even separate by a moveable wall to create some privacy between the beds. Would stay there again!
