Really nice staff. Two lounges available to chill in, both with free coffee, tea and cocoa. Very unique to sleep in a former school. The place feels very alive with some community events still happening in the school. Capsule style beds were very nice, enough space to stall out your gear and even has a little locker for valuables in the capsules.

Great Breakfast — The breakfast was one of the highlights of our mornings. A wide variety of fresh and delicious options, from local specialties to familiar favorites, made it a perfect start to each day before exploring. The food quality and presentation really stood out. Perfect Location — The hotel’s location couldn’t have been better. It was so convenient for walking to nearby attractions, dining spots, and transport links. Everything we wanted to see was just a short stroll away, which made sightseeing easy and relaxing. Room Size & Comfort — Our room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, especially for a city hotel. Plenty of space to unpack and settle in, with a thoughtful layout that made it feel like a home away from home. Room Cleanliness — The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day, and little touches like neatly arranged amenities made a great impression. Friendly & Helpful Staff — The hotel staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Whether it was suggestions on local spots, directions, or a simple greeting in the morning, their service made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience — great food, fantastic service, comfortable rooms, and an unbeatable location. We highly recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel, perfectly located: close to the train and bus station, and within walking distance from most tourist spots. Staff could communicate in English well. My room was spacious and well equipped. The hotel has an onsen (hot bath), which I unfortunately didn't have time to try out. I wish I could stay longer!

The location was next to the train and bus station which is very convenient. Very new and family friendly. I had a child with me and they provided kids meal and toiletries. Room was spacious enough for 3 of us. Onsen was heavenly.

Onyado Yuinosho is a lovely inn with traditional style rooms, food and onsen. The food was exceptional. The onsen had various types of indoor and outdoor baths.

The hotel has a beautiful modern design, spacious rooms, nice bath area, and free happy hour and parking. The location is perfect and staff was incredibly accommodating.

600 metres from Shirakawago, Shirakawago Guest House Kei is set in Shirakawa and offers rooms with free WiFi. All rooms feature a kitchen and a shared bathroom. We loved the vibe, the location and the staff. It made our stay in Shirakawa so much better! Thank you to the two managers that were so friendly and cooperative

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. I really liked the Guest House, it nice and cosy and felt like home. Really cute little touches as well. The staff were extremely friendly and the facilities were great too. My private room had everything I needed and again there was a cute welcome and thank you note. I’d definitely stay at the Guest House again.
