An unforgettable and truly unique experience! We loved everything about this place. Staying in a former Japanese school turned into accommodation is something special, and I’m so glad the “school vibe” has been thoughtfully preserved. The host was wonderful and made us feel genuinely welcome. The mountain location is beautiful and peaceful, and it ended up being one of the nicest, most memorable parts of our trip. We also really enjoyed the community atmosphere, it’s the kind of place where you meet interesting people and the whole stay feels warm and alive.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. It was close to the train station and close to the old town. The guest house was nice and tidy, with plenty of (indoors) possibility for free time activity (manga library, games and Nintendo) and a nice coffee house. Not to mention the shared kitchen and common room. They were also kind to look after our luggages for the day after we checked out.

I Nakatsugawa, 6,4 kilometer fra Mt. Ena Weston Park, ligger まち宿-machiyard-, som har gratis WiFi og gratis privat parkering. I loved everything about it. Some people won't like that it's 20 to 30 minutes walk from the train station, but I found walking through the neighborhood streets really great. It''s located directly next door to a large supermarket and a kitchen is also provided so you can self cater. There are also several great local neighborhood restaurants within five to 10 minutes away. The staff are very accommodating. Everything is new and the beds were very comfortable
