Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. The location was close to the bus station which was convenient and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! The maisonette we booked was very beautiful and the onsen was amazing!

It was my first time in Kusatsu and I am really happy that I chose the Buna Hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean. I love its modern side while still keeping a very traditional Japanese atmosphere. The place is beautiful, very quiet, and the welcome was so polite. I will recommend this hotel to my friends in France, and I truly hope to come back to Kusatsu one day. Arigatō gozaimasu! 🙏✨

We had such a wonderful time at Tanigawa Valley Lodge & Coffee Roastery. Staying here felt more like visiting a friend than checking into a lodge. Craig and his family are genuinely lovely… warm, generous, and full of helpful local insights. From day one, Craig helped us plan everything: hiking routes, the best nearby restaurants, even the local swimming spot his family visits daily. He even pointed out interesting local wildlife, which added a special touch to our nature walks. The rooms were super comfortable, breakfast was a delight, and the coffee… well, it lives up to the “roastery” in the name. Truly some of the best we’ve had in Japan. We’re already talking about coming back in winter to experience the area’s skiing. Highly recommended.

The hotel was lovely, free welcome drinks and cakes were very nice to have. We didn't have the breakfast or dinner as we wanted to eat outside but they seemed very good as well.

This tucked-away remodeled 120 year old geisha house has been redone beautifully. The owners have created a wonderful, inviting atmosphere that reflects their kind and generous nature. The place also has a restaurant that features Spanish and Argentine cuisine and serves a great breakfast. An unexpected delight in Kiryu!

This guesthouse is hidden gem during our 2 night stay at Kusatsu onsen with only 7-8 rooms & the environment is very cozy. The guesthouse was newly renovated & everything like new. We booked 4pax stay & the rooms condition is excellent. The staff service is good. We love it very much the onsen facility on this guesthouse. Breakfast provided were excellent. Nevertheless, this guesthouse is highly recommend during your visit to Kusatsu Onsen.

Boasting garden views, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with balcony, around 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. While the location was a bit out of the way (roughly 25min drive from Takasaki station), it was in a beautiful and quiet spot surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom. The room we had was the biggest out of all the places we stayed in Japan, was clean and comfortable, and had a private garden with covered deck and outdoor bath, which was absolute bliss after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The hospitality shown to us by the staff was exceptional, and we had no problem communicating through limited Japanese/English. They served traditional meals, which were beautifully presented and a delight to eat, having small servings of lots of different things. We made use of the free bicycles and had a great time exploring the area while getting a bit of exercise.

Situated in Shibukawa in the Gunma region, with Ishidan-gai Steps and Ikaho Ropeway nearby, Chigira Jinsentei features accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. The food was really good, the onsen was excellent and no complaints about the location!
