Akira and his family/staff could not have been more welcoming hosts. Akira personally picked us up from the bus station to bring us to the lodge and gave us a tour on arrival. We were able to check in early and hit the slopes at Goryu (<10 min walk). Hakuba Third Place Lodge’s private onsen was heavenly - we used it every day after snowboarding and it was never close to booked up. The room was clean, beautiful, spacious for what we paid and had great natural light. There was a cozy communal lounge space to play card games or watch shows that we actually took advantage of due to the welcoming atmosphere. The breakfasts were also great - my girlfriend is vegetarian, and they went out of their way to find a protein-filled replacement for the meat portion of the breakfast. Akira also gave us restaurant recommendations, helped us book our return bus to Tokyo, and even checked with another local before leaving us at the bus station to confirm we were at the right part of the station. I would have paid twice the amount in the United States for half the service we got here. I hope to be lucky enough to visit Hakuba again and stay at Third Place Lodge. I will be encouraging all my friends and family to stay here if they visit

I Hakuba, 7,9 kilometer fra Skiområdet Tsugaike Kogen, ligger The Happo by HHG, som har en restaurant, gratis privat parkering og en bar. Pure Bliss amazing place and the Italian chef and manager was fantastic, such a great guy!!! Cannot fault the stay, breakfast was SENSATIONAL!!!

This lodge was fantastic! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone answered all of our questions and made our time in Hakuba so easy. I would love to stay at this lodge again in the future.

The Joint Hakuba was an amazing place to stay, and I couldn’t recommend it enough, especially as a solo traveller. It’s very easy to meet people here, with a great mix of chill and party vibes. While there aren’t organised events, it was super easy to meet people in the dorms and common areas and head out together for food and drinks. The staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly, welcoming, and easy to chat with. They were also really helpful with transport advice, food recommendations, and suggestions for places to ride and visit around Hakuba. The dorms were really nice and well set up. The beds were super comfortable, with plenty of storage under the bunks and privacy curtains, which was a great touch. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms and showers were modern, spacious, and spotless. The common area was also very clean and cosy, and the fireplace at night was a highlight. The location is excellent, super close to Echoland main street with heaps of food and drink options nearby. It’s also very close to multiple bus stops that make getting to all the resorts easy. There’s a short walk to both 7-Eleven and Lawson, a short walk to the main town, and plenty of rental shops close by. Despite being so close to the main street, it was quiet at night and easy to sleep. It wasn’t overcrowded, and the rooms were warm with heaters in both the dorms and common areas. The Joint is perfect for solo travellers, first-timers to Hakuba, and anyone looking for a social stay in a super convenient location. I’d 100% stay here again.

Bare 1,9 kilometer fra Skiområdet Tsugaike Kogen ligger Summer Leaves, som har restaurant, en fellesstue, en terrasse og en bar. Både WiFi og privat parkering er tilgjengelig gratis på Summer Leaves. Very kind family owned hotel. Mary and Mickey were the most wholesome and kind people my wife and I have ever met. They helped us out of a tough situation and left us with an everlasting impression.

Best room we've had in Japan! Including a small kitchenette which was perfect for cooking up dinner. Excellent location: walkable/bike able to bus station, supermarket ,Happo One Gondola, onsen. Really helpful staff, pick up/drop off from train station. Nice breakfast. Laundry facilities.

You will love the warm and friendly atmosphere they create. This guest house is perfect for newcomers to Japan and for families with children. I highly recommend it!
