Carmay, the owner makes you feel welcomed the moment you checked in. He offered to pick us up from the train station. There was no need as we drove. Parking was free which was a bonus. Carmay cooked a tasty breakfast, ingredients brought in fresh from his farm. He even provided us with fresh spring water. He also gave us tips where to visit and gave us an excellent suggestion to drive the Shirawago White Road to Tayayama. Ryoko our host was incredible, from meeting at the train station offering a free shuttle service, she was charming and incredibly respectful. The property is homely, warm and even more beautiful than the images. The property is super luxurious and stylish and restored to the highest level with outstanding traditional Japanese craftsmanship. It felt like we stayed in a property that would feature in a Kinfolk Magazine, that is how contemporary stylish and beautiful this charming property is. The zen like qualities made us feel calm and relaxed from the moment we stepped foot inside. Everything we needed to hand. The beds superbly comfortable with luxurious bedding. The bathroom stylish yet comfortable and luxurious overlooking the zen garden, having a soak in the temperature controlled bath tub was exactly what we needed after a long and exhausting journey. Ryoko offered a free laundry service. It was not only kind but very helpful. The breakfast served daily in Angolo Cafe situated at the front of the property was delicious. She kept the menu interesting with daily different offerings of outstanding quality food. The coffee is unbelievable! Even the WiFi was on point. We cannot recommend this property enough. We are so glad this was our first property and stay in Japan, best choice. Would stay here again. Location is perfect. 10 minutes walk from train station, 10 minutes walk to Omichi Market.

Layout of the space was great. I liked the separation of living vs kitchen. Having the toilet and shower/sink separated was convenient with several people staying together. Extremely clean! Very spacious. Having a washing machine and drying line was great! The bath/shower room has a fantastic fan/heating system so you can easily dry your clothing overnight. One of my favourite hotels in Japan so far. Easy 8-10 min walk to train station. Easy walk to most attractions. Great cafe just a few doors down. Kitchen was well stocked with what you need for an easy meal.
