Truly 10 out of 10. The hotel staff were always attentive and willing to help — they even went out of their way to find lactose-free ice cream for us :) They also assisted us with restaurant reservations, and thanks to them we were able to dine during crab season and try fresh crab, even though all restaurants were fully booked. Our room was exceptionally clean, very spacious, and beautifully designed. The beds were extremely comfortable, the tea selection was excellent, and the Japanese breakfast was delicious. The location is very convenient — we could easily walk to all the main places. The hotel also offers a free lounge with complimentary drinks and snacks, including juices, wine, and various appetizers. The selection was very generous and all of it was included in the price. In addition, the in-room minibar offered a wide variety of drinks and snacks, all included and replenished without limits. Highly recommended

The hosts were incredibly helpful and kind. We did a bike trip around Noto Penninsula and started and ended our bike trip here. The hosts helped us tremendously with coordinating the delivery of the bikes and were kind enough to store our bags for the week while we biked. The home is spacious and the room we stayed in was comfortable. We were even given some onigiri by the hosts when we left :) I strongly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

Machiya Guest House Carta está em Kanazawa a 3,7 km de Estação de Trem Kanazawa e a 7 minutos a pé de D. T. Suzuki Museum. It is a nice and comfy ryokan that is good value for money. The staff is wonderful and the amenities , although shared, are up to date and modern. The ryokan is situated in the modern area of town (near the modern art museum) and the shopping districts. There are a lot of quaint cafes and eateries that locals visit that are not bogged down with tourists. If you want a local hotel/ryokan that is good value for money, this is the place.

Great location in the old town so perfect for early morning walks and ducking back during the day. A western-style hotel in a building that looks traditionally Japanese from the outside, with some nice decorative touches. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice shower/bath area. The staff were helpful in checking us in early and ordering us a taxi to get back to the train station.

Very cozy and clean rooms, there was a great attention to detail in the design of the space and everything we needed was available. The location is also nice, within walking distance of main attractions. The staff was friendly and we got some great recommendations for what to do in the area. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best meals of our trip and the menu changed daily so we got to try different dishes as we stayed for three nights. Overall, Kanazawa was a highlight of our trip and we’re very happy that we chose to stay here.

This was truly the best accomodation we have ever stayed in and for sure the best during our 3 weeks travel across Japan. The accomodation basically consists of a two floored house (so much space is so rare in Japan), with a beautiful modern bathroom on ground level including a bathtube facing out to a wonderful zen garden. The main rooms are on the first floor with a massive living room, a tatami room and a bedroom with the biggest and most comfortable bed. All rooms were spotless clean, bathrobes and pyjamas were offered. The bedroom view and balcony to the zen garden outside created a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. One of the best things definitely was the breakfast which is provided in an extra breakfast room downstairs at the café (which you cannot here from the flat) - not only is the room beautiful and very special but the breakfast itself was absolutely delicious: every day different sorts of freshly baked bread, incredibel pastries (so pretty!), fresh fruit and vegetables created in the most delicious and delicate way. We couldnt have asked or wished for more. On top of all this is Ryoko as lovely, welcoming and very thoughtful and caring host (pick up service from the train station, extra blankets unasked when the weather turned colder). This accomodation made our trip to Kanazawa extra special and unforgettable!
