The communal areas were really comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want - including lovely pottery. The host was extremely helpful and caring. Only 5 minutes walk from the station and 15 minutes to convenience stores. This would make an ideal base for trips to Hirazumi, the gorge, and the Goishi Coast - I really wish I had stayed longer.

Minpaku Hiraizumi, um alojamento com um jardim e um terraço, encontra-se em Hiraizumi, a 2,3 km de Templo Chusonji, 5,5 km de Templo Takkoku Seikou-ji e a 9 km de Estação Ferroviária de Ichinoseki. Minpaku Hiraizumi is fantastic. Location is less than 10mins from Hiraizumi station and everything in the town is within walking distance, except for Takkoku-no-iwaya for which you can try public transportation or rent a bike near the station. The house is traditional Japanese but with modern amenities super nice and very comfortable. Room is spacious with an AC, remote controlled lights and a very comfortable futon bed. The couple living there is lovely and of a rare kindness, truly embodying Japanese hospitality. When I stayed there it rained all day and they game me a lift to Takkoku-no-iwaya by car, patiently waiting for me visiting the location. They prepare an amazing homemade traditional breakfast and were nice to chat with as well, available for anything I neeced. My time there was short but I can't recommend this place enough if you're in Hiraizumi.

This was a wonderful stay with an exceptionally kind host and his 2 adorable dogs. He makes you feel immediately at home, and gave great suggestions about what to see in the area. The house was charming - its age in parts, It is a real house, that has been lived in and loved.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Cottage Oshu. It was the perfect winter getaway - cozy and wholesome! There was snow everywhere and it felt so magical! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed the nearby onsen, which is free if you stay at one of the cottages. When we came back from the onsen in the evening, the staff started a bonfire outside that just enhanced the magical atmosphere. We found a couple of sweet potatoes in a plastic bag hung at our door handle and fully enjoyed roasting them in the bonfire. Such an amazing stay!
