The hotel offers the best value for money. The room was big and nicely decorated. The staff’s attention to details was top notch. The location is 10 out of 10. The hotel is right next to Kumamoto station and in AMU shopping center. There’re many good restaurants nearby.

The ryokan is located in the quiet area but not too far from the city center. The room is clean. The food is delicious.

Staff were absolutely attentive. The room was huge and with castle views. Very convenient if you are taking the coach line to Yufuin or Kurokawa, as the bus station is in front of the hotel.

Omusubi guest house (JAPANESE STYLE） is a recently renovated guest house in Mamihara, where guests can make the most of its free bikes and garden. A wonderful host and home. We stayed in a room that accommodated 4 people in Japanese styled bedrooms. A traditional home, it was a beautiful experience. The hostess was so helpful, accommodating and warm. She helped ensure we had the best stay and got to know the local restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

Situated within 43 km of Mount Aso and 47 km of Lake Ezu, hostel+cafe たね provides rooms in Hōgano. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Charming location. Beautiful traditional Japanese house. We brought pot noodles as worried there would be nowhere to eat but didn't need to worry as helpful host gave us directions to an izikaya a couple of kilometres away. Good if you have a car but probably not ideal to walk at night as not much pavement or lighting. Wish we had a bit more time to enjoy setting.

It’s a very beautiful house with an amazing and welcoming owner! We loved the location and the room, very big and as described! We will be back! Furthermore, the two cats around the hostel are just so wonderful it makes the experience even better.
