Located in Matsushima, 10 km from Shiogama Shrine, Matsushima Koumura features accommodation with a hot tub and a public bath. There is a private entrance at the ryokan for the convenience of those who stay. The ryokan provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything from the location to the palatial size of the room to the tattoo friendly onsen, too bad I wasn't aware of an evening meal served there. The owners are the real treasure there, I wouldn't think twice about recommending this place to anyone interested in visiting Matsushima.

It was a very enjoyable experience. Please do mind that most activity plays at the other part of Matsushima, which is about half an hour walking.

It was absolutely exceptional, from the food, to the staff, to the service and hot springs, everything was simply immaculate. You cannot get any better than this.

The best is the private Onsen with view to the bay, absolutely stunning. The staff is superattentive and they axplain everything in english. The atmosphere in the hotel is quiet and chilling. Brekkie is very good and varies fron day to day. Parkibg is in front of the hotel or 100m on a hotel parking
