Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. Ryokan is perfectly located, just next to the temple. The staff are welcoming and kind, helping with many things you didn't knew you needed help with. Food is delicious and atmosphere in Ryokan let's you feel like in Japan from the movies. Initially I thought it was pricey, however after the stay I'm disappointed of myself that I didn't book it for longer.

Hakuba Third Place Lodge se nachází v destinaci Hakuba a nabízí sdílený lounge. Tsugaike Kogen ski areál je 13 km daleko a Nagano železniční stanice 40 km. The lodge is very well equipped. Our room even had a refrigerator, and the shared space offered a microwave, oven, and electric kettle. While dining options in Hakuba Village can be limited in winter, having these free facilities made it easy to buy frozen food and heat it ourselves. Honestly, after skiing all day in strong winds and heavy snow, being able to eat something warm at the lodge was far better than any fancy meal. The ski drying room was also very convenient, and the staff kindly opened it early for us so we could catch the 7:00 AM early-morning skiing session. The lodge also sells discounted lift tickets (¥7,000 per day, limited quantity on a first-come, first-served basis), and they provide IC cards with on-site top-up, which saved us the trouble of buying tickets at the Goryu ski resort. In addition, they offer discounts at nearby rental shops — we used Winpy, which was conveniently located along the way. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Nonna Milli was incredible- the beds were exceptionally comfortable, especially as Elia and his wife had them custom made for extra thickness. We woke up more comfortable than when we went to bed! The house is so beautifully kept and restored, with everything so well thought out- it felt very special staying in this house being our first time in Japan. Everything was immaculately clean. Sharing the bathroom was no problem at all, we didn’t even feel like it was a shared bathroom it was always available for us. A highly memorable experience in Matsumoto!

Really clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful with any requests. Walking distance to everything and close to the one of the best bakeries ever

Our stay at Darkhorse was truly amazing! Andy and the staff went out of their way to make sure it was an unforgettable experience! Very special.

Comfortable Living: Takumisou1 in Fukushima offers a holiday home with three bedrooms and a living room. Guests enjoy free WiFi, air-conditioning, and a balcony. A wonderful little house in the sweet town of Kiso. Incredibly roomy and with everything you could think of. The hosts were so nice and welcoming and had a sweet and warm demeanor. Will definitely try to stay here again.
