As a family of four, we stayed at a handful of hotels during our time in Japan. This was our favorite by far. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here, and it was nothing short of magical. Since our time was short, we barely left the resort. Our personal onsen was dreamy, and we also had access to the communal pool. The meals were beautiful and gave us the opportunity to try traditional dishes. Our room was very clean, cozy, and spacious. We had a Japanese-style room and found the futons to be very comfortable. There was a TV in the room, but we didn't feel the need to turn it on. The wifi was strong enough for all our needs as well. Although our Japanese is very limited, the staff made an effort to communicate with us. This was very much appreciated! We relied heavily on Google Translate. As parents with teenage boys, it's difficult to find something the entire family enjoys, but this was it!

Beautiful ryokan nearby most of the attractions and bus station in Beppu. Private onsen was so nice to have in the morning and evening. Ran by a lovely family. Had the privilege of eating dinner and breakfast here as well.

Nice and clean apartment with a private onsen. We had a beautiful view from our balcony. Excellent services, free parking and a friendly host. The "Hells of Beppu" is only a few minutes by car.

Free beer in the lobby and onsen eggs outside the entrance. The footbath on the roof is always awesome. The onsens are great (including the in-room onsen). The room itself is excellent. The staff is exceptional. It was our second time visiting this ryokan and as we were leaving, one of the staff members said she recognized us from last year because we were in the lobby drinking beer again, so that gave us a good laugh!
