El hotel es de colores claros y apenas ingresas debes sacarte los zapatos. Se dejan en un locker y te manejas descalzo directamente, sin pantuflas. Nos dieron otra habitación a la que habíamos solicitado y era mucho mejor, así que quedamos muy contentos. Hermosa habitación, en verdad, El onsen también está genial. No pagamos desayuno. Nos quedamos dos noches, tocó mucho frío y estaba agradablemente cálido dentro. Cuenta con garage, aunque es pago. La verdad es que llegamos con mucho frío y agua nieve así que los planes de ir a ver el atardecer y caminar no los cumplimos del todo, así que tenemos la sensación de no conocer mucho Matsue. Sí tomamos el autobús turístico y fuímos al castillo y al barrio antiguo, una belleza. De la nieve nos protegieron los paraguas azules proporcionados por el hotel.

Everything was 10/10 great place. highly recommend for anyone passing through. We were bike packing and the owners were very helpful.

The hot spring experience was wonderful, offering various types of private baths. The welcome hospitality was thoughtful, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful. The staff carefully explained the menu. They also serve supper, it’s so delicious.

The house was super clean and comfortable. It is clear it is well maintained. The host is amazing!! We had great conversations and he was helpful with everything we needed. He even helped us with transportation when we got stuck. Trully recomend when visiting the area, you will nit regret it!

Our stay at 喜庵 KIAN the guest house by the castle was exceptional and a true delight. Located in a quiet alley in view of the Matsue Castle, our host Emi provided a warm welcome and was very helpful in suggesting (in English) interesting places to visit in the area. Our tatami room was clean and comfortable with AC and free WiFi. The kitchen provided a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, tea pot and tea, a table and chairs, and kitchen sink.

I could not rate them any higher if I tried. The host picked me up from the small railway station. At no charge. He helped me carry my heavy suitcase. Don’t bring one there if you can help it. He took me to this most beautiful location right next to a Buddhist-monastery. In the middle of the woods, going through small, adventurous roads. I was greeted with a matcha 🍵 and a sweet. A can of tea was given to me. My room had a big window to the woods. I went to view the surroundings and I was honestly stunned. His wife asked me if I wanted a bath and at what time I wished to eat. The food served in a separate private room by the family ( grandma and wife) was out of this world. So much love put into that. So much effort. And it never ended, the arrival of even more little pots and pans. I then slept in the perfectly clean little bed on the floor. Rainy night, so cozy. Breakfast was served and just as perfect as the evening before. The host took me back to the train. I left my bag at the station to see the Adachi- museum of art. All in all, if you are after the real Japanese experience- go here! I took the train here for 6 hours, and I would always do this again. I just wish they put their prices up. They are so much worth this- and more.

Everything wonderful. Very comfortable beds. Went for deluxe room with seating area and water views, and were rewarded with two evenings savoring the spectacular sunsets over the lake for which Matsue is known. Dinner in restaurant Willows very nice—be sure to make reservation when you book. We got in one night, but the night we arrived it was booked out, like many places in the city.
