El hotel es de colores claros y apenas ingresas debes sacarte los zapatos. Se dejan en un locker y te manejas descalzo directamente, sin pantuflas. Nos dieron otra habitación a la que habíamos solicitado y era mucho mejor, así que quedamos muy contentos. Hermosa habitación, en verdad, El onsen también está genial. No pagamos desayuno. Nos quedamos dos noches, tocó mucho frío y estaba agradablemente cálido dentro. Cuenta con garage, aunque es pago. La verdad es que llegamos con mucho frío y agua nieve así que los planes de ir a ver el atardecer y caminar no los cumplimos del todo, así que tenemos la sensación de no conocer mucho Matsue. Sí tomamos el autobús turístico y fuímos al castillo y al barrio antiguo, una belleza. De la nieve nos protegieron los paraguas azules proporcionados por el hotel.

The interior was really cozy and the hosts were extremely friendly. There’s also a cafe bar so you can get a coffee or night cap which was lovely. There’s also hosts also made great suggestions for places to go for dinner and trails we could go on a walk on. The breakfast was also delicious. Absolutely recommend this place for your quiet getaway to Tsuwano.

喜庵 KIAN the guest house by the castle es un alojamiento 2 estrellas ubicado en Matsue, a a menos de 1 km de Museo Conmemorativo Lafcadio Hearn, y tiene un jardín. Emi was a great host and we enjoyed our stay very much. The place is in a quiet side street next to the castle area so very convenient (and easy to reach by bus from the station). We came early and Emi made sure that everything is already ready for us and welcomed us with a tea ceremony. If we revisit Matsue one day I'm sure we will end up staying here again!

We could not have asked for better. The tatami rooms were beautiful with lovely views of the temples and trees. The hotel is set inside the temple complex within a forest of very tall old cedars and bamboo on a mountainside. The air was fresh and clean. It was quiet and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and helpful and offered to drive us to the Adachi Museum of Art. We preferred to relax in the forest with the peace and quiet.

Stunning, authentic and clean room(s), kind and understanding staff who spoke to me slowly in Japanese to assist with checkin, and rules were reiterated in English on documents anyway despite Matsue being relatively rural. Absolutely beautiful view at both night and in the morning, I was shocked! Onsen came free with the stay. Zero complaints, the best stay of our trip around Japan.
