The hotel seems brand new, and the rooms are nicely set up with tatami mats and comfortable beds. Just like in a ryokan, you leave your shoes at the entrance. This gives the hotel a very cozy feel despite its size. The staff is extraordinary. I never had to wait to talk to a staff member and they were very helpful. The onsen is one of the best I experienced in larger hotels like this. It is a very nice oasis to come back to after a long day. I particularly liked that they also have a sauna. The location is ideal. There are lots of restaurants and bars literally right outside the hotel, the lake and the castle are both just a short stroll away. If I come back to Matsue, I will stay here again for sure.

The guesthouse is recently and tastefully renovated traditional house. Triple room is large and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Short walk from the train station and local attractions.

The hot spring experience was wonderful, offering various types of private baths. The welcome hospitality was thoughtful, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful. The staff carefully explained the menu. They also serve supper, it’s so delicious.

The accommodation was beautiful and very clean, and the train station as well as the main sights were easily reachable by bus or on foot. A truly lovely little town with the best host imaginable! Emi was a great host and we enjoyed our stay very much. The place is in a quiet side street next to the castle area so very convenient (and easy to reach by bus from the station). We came early and Emi made sure that everything is already ready for us and welcomed us with a tea ceremony. If we revisit Matsue one day I'm sure we will end up staying here again!

These hard working people and their outstanding building and surroundings really need more international visits. So, if you’re in the market for a Adachi museum visit. Please consider this ryokan as your stay. I would recommend a 2 night stay as you can explore the temple grounds and unwind. In other words; It’s been absolutely perfect. どうもありがとう。

Everything wonderful. Very comfortable beds. Went for deluxe room with seating area and water views, and were rewarded with two evenings savoring the spectacular sunsets over the lake for which Matsue is known. Dinner in restaurant Willows very nice—be sure to make reservation when you book. We got in one night, but the night we arrived it was booked out, like many places in the city.
