Included access to laundry machine, free items in the fridge, general access to the whole house were great to have. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Wished I could have stayed another day to enjoy the cafe and watch the sunset when it wasn't cloudy.

Emi, the host, was amazing! She was super friendly and welcomed us with some tea and sweets. She had great tips for stuff to do around Matsue (she recommended this beautiful sunset watching spot!) and was overall a very gracious host. The room was very large and we just had the nicest and most relaxing stay in a long 24-day exploration vacation in Japan.

The tatami rooms were beautiful with lovely views of the temples and trees. The hotel is set inside the temple complex within a forest of very tall old cedars and bamboo on a mountainside. The air was fresh and clean. It was quiet and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and helpful and offered to drive us to the Adachi Museum of Art. We preferred to relax in the forest with the peace and quiet.

The location is fantastic. The views of the lake are beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the staff keep them spotlessly clean. The Japanese breakfasts are exceptional. And the staff are warm and friendly, and always helpful.
