The interior was really cozy and the hosts were extremely friendly. There’s also a cafe bar so you can get a coffee or night cap which was lovely. There’s also hosts also made great suggestions for places to go for dinner and trails we could go on a walk on. The breakfast was also delicious. Absolutely recommend this place for your quiet getaway to Tsuwano.

Com acomodação 4 estrelas, Inishie no Yado Keiun fica em Izumo, a 2,3 km de Inasa Beach e a 5 minutos a pé de Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo. Fantastic facilities, great view from the room. I would go to Izumo again just to stay at this place.

We had a wonderful stay. Mr. Namba-sama was an exceptionally kind and helpful host. The accommodation was beautiful and very clean, and the train station as well as the main sights were easily reachable by bus or on foot. A truly lovely little town with the best host imaginable! This is the perfect place to stay in Matsue. Great value, great place and a wonderful host. If both rooms are available, see item 3 below re the difference. Tip: it's worth spending 5 mins reading the helpful suggestions from other guests in the guestbook. 1. Location - excellent, central and walking distant from restaurants and bars, while being in a quiet location. If you're coming from the JR train/JR bus terminal, you'll need to take a bus (or taxi). Note that as at Dec 2025, Google unhelpfully doesn't tell you which of the many bus stops you need to catch your bus from - however, Navitime does. 2. Host - Emi is a proactive and welcoming host. She checked on us regularly and is bilingual in English so we had some lovely conversations. Her suggestions and those of her previous guests in her guestbook allowed us to have a really full and interesting 2 days based in Matsue. This included great bar/restaurant suggestions - Cafe Puente quite rightly comes up in many people's suggestions. 3. Rooms - there are two. The larger ones is upstairs, however for two people we found the downstairs one just fine. We decided to stay in the smaller downstairs room because we didn't want to go up and down the stairs. However, there were no other guests during the time we stayed. Note that the downstairs room is where the kitchen, showers and entrance area are. The upstairs room is more insulated and probably quieter if both rooms are occupied. However, while we stayed during mid-December, thanks to the heating on timers in the room and the kitchen, it was never too cold. 4. Facilities - we had breakfast in the kitchen and found it to be perfectly equipped for our needs. There are two bathrooms (each with a shower and toilet), which means that even if both rooms are occupied, there would always be a shower and toilet available for each room. The shower had good pressure and temperature.

The host picked me up from the small railway station. At no charge. He helped me carry my heavy suitcase. Don’t bring one there if you can help it. He took me to this most beautiful location right next to a Buddhist-monastery. In the middle of the woods, going through small, adventurous roads. I was greeted with a matcha 🍵 and a sweet. A can of tea was given to me. My room had a big window to the woods. I went to view the surroundings and I was honestly stunned. His wife asked me if I wanted a bath and at what time I wished to eat. The food served in a separate private room by the family ( grandma and wife) was out of this world. So much love put into that. So much effort. And it never ended, the arrival of even more little pots and pans. I then slept in the perfectly clean little bed on the floor. Rainy night, so cozy. Breakfast was served and just as perfect as the evening before. The host took me back to the train. I left my bag at the station to see the Adachi- museum of art. All in all, if you are after the real Japanese experience- go here! I took the train here for 6 hours, and I would always do this again. I just wish they put their prices up. They are so much worth this- and more.

Everything wonderful. Very comfortable beds. Went for deluxe room with seating area and water views, and were rewarded with two evenings savoring the spectacular sunsets over the lake for which Matsue is known. Dinner in restaurant Willows very nice—be sure to make reservation when you book. We got in one night, but the night we arrived it was booked out, like many places in the city.
