I love that each unit is a separate apartment. Traveling with my children, I didn't have to worry about them walking too loud or running around. The homes were so clean, and smelled like new construction. The onsen was the perfect temperature and the sauna was perfect after walking back from dinner on a cool night.

The place is really special! The host is super nice and helpful. While staying at Mr. Hiro’s place you can feel the real Japan. The whole place was very clean and there was a cozy onsen inside. We highway recommend it!

The Nikko Nishimachi Club a la touto is located within a short walking distance to 4 area Temples/Shrines. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers wonderful private spa access on each floor which can be reserved in advance (there is a nominal spa tax which is paid during checkout). Some free drinks were provided in the room fridge along with some simple snacks (chips/crisps). Bathrobes, pajamas and quality toiletries are also provided. The staff was very courteous and helpful, always using a translation app when needed to ensure a clear understanding. Local cafes and restaurants can have odd hours or closing days, so just be aware. The Indian restaurant above the nearby Lawsons was very good, as well as the crepes in the cafe next door, when open. A visit to the local tourist information center was very helpful. The hotel reimbursed our taxi fees from the train station upon arrival and welcomed us with a glass of wine or juice, which was lovely. They also provided transportation back to the train station after checkout.

We had an excellent stay at Shinkyo Inn, Mark and his partner are so lovely and caring, offering extra items for our room (towels, snacks, tea, coffee etc) and giving excellent advises about the places to visit, recommending restaurants. Overall, our stay was very nice. The location is excellent, most sightseeing locations are in walking distance and the famous heritage bridge is just in front of the Inn, offering beautiful views of the river and surroundings. There is a small bar/ restaurant in the Shinkyo Inn, where we could eat late dinner. Breakfast was excellent and additional toasts were provided on demand. Mark and his Japanese partner are excellent hosts, always available for a chat or some advice. A lovely place which we highly recommend for anyone who wants to visit Nikko.

Ubytovanie Nikko Cottage Yurt sa nachádza v destinácii Nikko 13 min. It is definitely not a yurt and more of a cottage, but as attractive as the pictures show. When the big doors open, the picture windows look at the mountains. The construction uses natural shape of wood. All the facilities are new, modern, and quite clean. Our hostess picked us up from the train station and gave us a quick tour of town before dropping us off and making sure we knew how everything worked. She left us some gorgeous pastries. Communication prior to arrival and after was excellent. It was pouring rain on the morning of our departure and we were provided a ride to the station! Exceptional accommodations and service.
